Minutes from Spring Fling Fund raiser Meeting of March 11, 2008

Chris Rentas and Toni Rodriquez will be responsible for Store – Toni gathered new items from last year, list of items from previous stock and new donations
Elizabeth Watkins and Toni Rodriquez will be working to get notices posted out in the community for the Spring Fling
Second batch of notices regarding Spring Fling and Taffy Apple Sale were passed out to each program to go out this week.
Elizabeth Watkins and Toni Rodriquez will work with PAEC High School students to organize the Taffy Apples for pick-up/distribution.
Elizabeth Watkins and Renee Clark-Pullum will take charge of the Taffy Apple Pick-up for Friday, April 11, 2008
Need volunteers to man the raffle table from 12:00 – 4:00 on Friday, April 11, 2008. Already volunteered are Sue Callahan, Laura Mayer, Mary Beth Boeh, Roxanne Ross and Rosiland Banks.
A recent inventory of items revealed that we have adequate supplies for the make your own goodie bag. However, we are always open to new donation. Suggestion was made by Carol Michels and others to watch for good sales right after Easter at Walgreen, Target etc. Also, Carol Michels has 4 bags of candy to donate.
Committee decided to give stickers (or maybe tattoos) as small prize for the Bunny Toss game. We need to get donation or purchase these
Sue Callahan will be checking on the status of table cloths and raffle tickers – do we have enough?
Mary Beth Boeh will be checking on the status of plastic containers for raffle tickets – do we have enough?
Toni Rodriquez, Clarita Iozzo and Elizabeth Watkins will be working with the PAEC Center High School students to set up tables in gym on Friday, April 11, 2008.
Mary Beth Boeh will work with Jill Collins for inside and outside signs.
Mary Beth Boeh will provide a work order to Richard Theis regarding room and pod set-ups
Jill Collins has made arrangements for advertisement in local papers. Status regarding if advertisement was able to placed for the April addition of “Chicago Parent” Magazine. Roxanne Ross will be checking into getting some advertisement on local radio stations.
If you are able to volunteer for Friday set-up and/or Saturday Fling event,please fill out notice and send to Lisa Pirello, if you have not already done so, to let her know what time and activities you will be
available.
First count into Marriott is due Monday, March 31, 2008 and second count is due on
Monday, April 7, 2008.
Taffy Apple order needs to be placed on Friday, April 4, 2008. committee members noted that when the order is placed the company be notified of concern with last order and the closeness of the expiration date – some of the apples had begun to bubble. {Side note- Hillside 8th graders just completed a graduation fund raising taffy apple sale – all apples sold for $1.00 – they made $3000.00.}
Elizabeth Watkins offered to bring in some jazz Cd's for the sound system.
Mary Beth Boeh will check out the CD player and sound system to make sure they are in working order.
Some money is still coming in and that money will be added to that programs share of the fund raising money. Amounts already deposited are:

The High School did not participate
Laura Mayer will be organizing at least 10 hand held radios for the day of the Fling.
Mary Beth Boeh will be working with Richard Maletich and Dan Boni to finalize picture taking the day of the event – Committee agreed that one sheet of pictures (combination of 4”x 6”, 5” x 7” or wallets)
will be $5.00 or 2 Sheets for $8.00. 4” x 6” frames will be sold separately.
