Subject: Preventing Employment Discrimination Training
As you know University policy states that discrimination in the work place, or in the educational environment, is unacceptable conduct. Further it is counter-productive to our concept of a great University.
To help all employees gain a better understanding of what constitutes discrimination and how it can be prevented, UM Human Resources has developed an on-line Preventing Employment Discrimination Training program designed to educate employees about this highly sensitive issue. Our expectation is that every employee should take this training.
Please provide eachof your employees (whether faculty, or staff) with the following directions which will take them to the myHR applications page where they can access the on-line discrimination training module. This is in the same location as the Preventing Sexual Harassment Training employees took last year.

- Log in with your User ID and Password

- On the page labeled “Preventing Employment Discrimination,” select the version of the training module that is applicable to your relationship to the University (e.g., Supervisory or Non-supervisory)
- Follow the directions in the training module to move through the entire module.

- Once your test score is 80 percent or above, please complete your personal information located at the end of the test and click the button below to create the certificate and record your results. The certificate may be printed and kept as part of your personal records however you do not need to send a copy to Human Resource Services.

Please encourage your employees toreview the program to ensure that they are well educated about, and fully understand the issue of,discrimination and how it affects the work environment.
