Sir,
Kindly quote your most competent rate for Pest Control in CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram and its campus. The quotations may be submitted in Sealed Tenders superscribed as “Tender for Pest Control” either to be deposited at COA’s Office or may be sent to the address given below so as to reach on or before 3.00 pm on 06/04/2016 and it will be opened on the same day at 3.30 pm
The scope of work & general conditions related to work is enclosed herewith.
The contract will be initially for a period of one year. On award of the contract,you have to execute an agreement with NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram; the specimen will be supplied to you. Further, you have to furnish a security deposit or bank guarantee for a period of 18 months for an amount equal to 10% of the total contract amount of one year.

PEST CONTROL ACTIVITIES AT CSIR – NIIST, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM
Scope of work
The contractor shall undertake pest control treatment regularly, but at least thrice in a week in all the rooms of the building and surroundings of the building and the campus to make it free from the nuisances of pests, rodents , rats ,cockroaches , reptiles , crawling insects, flies etc. The contractor shall undertake necessary treatment to protect the files, papers and wooden fixtures of the Institute from the attack of silverfish / white ant / termite etc.

The contractor in consultation with the Head Laboratory Supervisor shall arrange placing of bite, traps etc frequently to trap rodents and dispose of trapped rats. He should arrange to spray suitable insecticide / chemical periodically to eradicate the menace of flying and crawling objects. Ultimately it shall be the responsibility of the contractor to ensure that all the rooms, labs, pilot plants, buildings and premises of NIIST are free from rats,termites,cockroaches,flies,ants, rodents and all other crawling insects. Therefore frequent inspection, assessing the menace, placing of traps and bites, spraying of insecticide andchemicals, timely removal of carcasses and cleaning the area should be undertaken by the Contractor.
It shall be responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that the chemicals, bites or traps used do not harm the health of officers and staff working in this Institute or any other person coming into contact with such chemicals or traps accidentally. The Contractor will be responsible for safe custody of the items used for pest control activities.
Only BIS approved chemical and bites and non toxic to human being should be used for pest / rodent control activities at this Institute.
General Conditions
The Contractor should ensure that their operators visit this Institute during working hours on working days for pest control treatments regularly and subsequent check up for the effect of the treatment and clearing of the dead rodent etc, The operator should make minimum three visits per week .
In the event of any accident or injury to the operator during the process of pest control treatment, this institute will not have any responsibility, The liability shall rest with the Contractor and he shall execute an indemnity Bond to this effect.
The Director, CSIR – NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram reserves the right to terminate this contract without assigning any reason thereto by giving one month notice in writing.
