Frequently Asked Questions:

How much spending money should I bring? A good minimum might be $50 for the meal on the road and a couple of snacks during the week. If you will want to purchase t-shirts, CD’s, or anything else from the store at camp, you might need a little more.

If you’re taking their cell phone, how will they contact me? First, there is very little cell reception at camp anyway.

Second, if you’re kid is the type who calls home to inform you they arrived safely, please come to my house and teach me how to raise children. The best way for them to call you from camp is to bring a calling card and use the pay phones at camp. Plus they will have a much greater appreciation for how you contacted folks back in the good ole days. If you need to contact them for a circumstance requiring immediate notification, just call Carolina Point and they will be able to track us down.

What if my child has special medical needs like dietary restrictions or prescription drugs? Please inform us as soon as possible if either of those is the case. Prescription drugs will need to be in a clear plastic bag when you arrive at the buses, with your child’s name on the bag. We will hand them off to the nurse upon arriving at camp and they will administer them for the week. If your child has dietary restrictions please note it on their health form, and email me so that I can inform the camp as early as possible.

Who will stay with my kid? The Young Life volunteer leaders will stay in the cabins with your kids.

What will I be doing each day? Most of the details are all a surprise, but in general there will be plenty of free time and scheduled activities each day, including YL Club.
