Study Guide for WBTC Chapters 6, 7, & 8:

-Amy tutors Adam’s little sister Bettina, who only wants to talk about boys.

-Bettina is rude and demanding to Amy, mistreating Amy, a behavior she learned from her mother.

-Two stereotypes that Bettina says:
Girls aren’t good at math (it’s unfeminine) = Sexist Stereotype
Orientals (Asians) are good at Math and Science = Racial Stereotype.

-Mrs. Tarcher calls Amy Eileen, the girl she prefers Adam to be dating.

-When Amy asks to be paid, she again swallows her feelings after Mrs. Tarcher offers her the money.

-Amy admits to Adam that she wears a mask, hiding her true feelings or who she really is.

-A cop comes up to Amy & Adam in the car but leaves them alone since Adam is in the upper class.

-Amy doesn’t like getting special treatment, that comes along with being a Blue in real life.

-Amy and Carol decide to meet at the mall and Carol suggests that they both leave their armbands and journals at home.

-Amy suggests to her fellow Blues that they should sabotage the game and unite all the colors but they don’t want to “rock the boat.” [Mess things up/Change things]

-Paul Thomas is finally a ‘somebody’, speaking up, getting A’s & being noticed, wishing he could stay a Blue forever.

-At the mall, Amy suggests to Carol to rebel against the color game, bringing all the colors together but G4 Brian catches them together.

-Carol has her journal and wears her armband but Amy doesn’t have either.

-Carol is embarrassed when Brian reads her personal journal entry out loud, which is all about not liking Adam and forcing him to bow.

-Amy finally stands up for herself to Brian (not swallowing her feelings), not caring if she gets reported, admitting that being a particular color doesn’t make you better than anyone else.

-Amy was not invited to Adam’s weekend trip away to the Mountains, but Eileen was.

-Papa does not approve of Amy’s idea to protest and go against the Color Game.

-Juan joins Amy in hanging up the ‘ALL COLORS UNITE’ posters in the school.

-At school, Amy starts bowing back to lower colors, continuing to try to rebel against the game.

-Most people assume the Orangeshave put up the posters (Stereotype: It MUST have been the lower class people).

-G4-Brian offers game points to those that fink on whoever put up the UNITE posters.

-Amy jumps up in class, admitting that she put up the posters (speaks up)! She tries to take the punishment alone but Juan admits to helping her.

-Brian informs Amy that she has disgraced her color and no one will want anything to do with her: and she will now be demoted (given lower status) to an Orange.

-Even though Amy expected a demotion, she was embarrassed to go from the highest color in the game, all the way down to the lowest color.

-Light Greens and Oranges quietly congratulate Amy, assuring her that she made the right decision.
