Proposal sketch:

A detail sketch (8.5x11”) with measurements and material specifications must accompany your proposal form. Sketch must contain detailed information about the work you intend to complete and present for your BFA Exhibition. Specifically, include a drawing about the following:

  • A detailed sketch of how exactly your piece will exist in the gallery
  • The medium of the work; the approximate size; whether the piece consists of a series of works (a diptych or triptych); if the work is a wall piece or free standing; etc.
  • Dimensions of the object/s/ and surrounding space - Be sure to indicate all dimensions of the work and any details including how freestanding structures will be fastened together and/or be able to stand alone.
  • Method/s/ you will use to hang or otherwise fasten the work to the wall or area
  • The need for electricity, digital equipment, headphones, non-MCA pedestals, or other related materials
  • Concerns for the BFA Committee to approve or otherwise carefully consider.

You should begin working on your proposed piece as soon as your proposal has been accepted. Should your proposal not be accepted, you will receive email instruction of what modifications are needed. This email will be sent to you and your advisor via your MCA email account. Be sure to make changes to your proposal and resubmit it before the deadline in said email or you will be fined. Unreasonably delinquent proposal resubmissions will be dismissed from the BFA Exhibition.

Please staple this signed form to your sketch with detailed information. Only signed, stapled proposals with drawings will be accepted.
