Students that choose to break the class rules will be

subject to the following consequences:

Students will be given warnings and teacher documentations per the discretion of the teacher. Five teacher documentations will result in an administrative write-up. All teacher docs will be recorded into Infinite Campus as parent contact. Parents will be contacted if signed teacher documentation is not returned.

MORNING ROUTINE:

Students should observe the following expectations when arriving to school. Be a Camel! Re Responsible and take care of business before going to Block 1 (note table, breakfast, locker and restroom). Be Respectful and report quietly at voice level 1 to Block 1. Be safe and enter the building after 6:55 am. The building will not be open for students prior to that time.

HALLWAY:

Be a Camel!

1.  Be Respectful: Use a Voice level 1 and use positive comments only

2.  Be Responsible: Walk with purpose on right side of hall/stairs and pick up/throw away paper you may find on the floor.

3.  Be Safe: Keep your body to yourself

Be a Camel During Lunch!

Be Respectful: Use Voice Level 1 and use appropriate language

Be Responsible: get what you need the first time through the line and report spills by raising hand and telling someone on duty

Be Safe: return and stack trays properly. Sit in assigned area only and ask/receive permission to leave your seat.
At the end of lunch your teacher will pick you up and escort you back to class. Students will line up with their teacher to return and return to class using appropriate Hallway procedures and voice levels.

LOCKERS:

Students will be permitted at their

lockers without agendas between

each class. It is important for

student to plan ahead when they

are at their lockers. They are only

permitted 4 minutes to transition

between classes. Students will

receive a teacher documentation

if they are tardy to class.

Transition to Class:

Students will be given 4 minutes

between classes to go directly to

their next class, unless there is a

need to stop at their locker.

Students are to line up next to the

lockers near their class. Those

students that do not arrive to class

on time will be considered

TARDY and will be written up on

teacher documentation.

Restroom Breaks are NOT

permitted during the transition

time unless a restroom pass has

been signed out by the encore/

core teacher.

Restroom Breaks:

You may use the restroom in the morning

after you have checked into Block 1 and

get permission from your teacher by

signing the Sign out Sheet, having

agenda signed and carrying the

Restroom pass. You can go to the

restroom during lunch. You may also

get permission from your teacher during

class by signing the Sign out Sheet,

having the teacher sign your agenda and

carrying the Restroom pass.

Use facilities and move on

Keep walls and stalls clean.
Be Responsible: Get permission and hall

Pass from teacher before going

Be Safe: Keep clean by disposing of

tissue and other products appropriately.

Report problems to a staff member.

Wash Hands.

Agendas:

You will be issued an agenda free of charge to be

used every day. Every teacher will post the daily

agenda. You must copy this into the agenda every

day. If you tear apart the first agenda, you will need

to purchase a new one from the main lobby daily

before 7:30 a.m. Failing to bring your agenda to

school will be a violation of school procedures

resulting in a teacher documentation.

Absences:

On your first day back from an absence, you

must stop at the main office in the morning

before going to your homeroom.

Ms. Lakes will issue you a note.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

TO GET MISSING WORK.

You will be permitted to go to the teachers from

7:00 – 7:30. After you get your absence slip signed,

hand it into your last class teacher. You will have one

day for each day you were absent to make up the

missing work. If you have to leave during the school

day, you are not to disrupt the teachers for work. You

can get the work when you return the next school day the same as if you were absent for the entire day.

Late work:

Late work will not be accepted. The administration will be notified if your missing work becomes excessive. You also have the option to attend Monday Make-up. Please see the school handbook for more information on Monday Make-up. All late work will receive a 20% reduction.

STUDENT PROGRESS AND GRADING SCALE

* To be promoted, a student must pass with a yearly average of 64.5%; 6 out of 8 classes must be passed

*The cumulative grade from 1 and encore 2 classes constitutes two separate grades

*Any exceptions to the above standards must be approved by the principal based on input from teachers

*Parents/guardians will receive prior notification of possible retention and parents may request a conference.

Campbell County Middle School adheres to the following grading scale:

A+ 99% or better B- 85% - 86% D+ 70% - 72%

A 95% - 98% C+ 82% - 84% D 67% - 69%

A- 93% - 94% C 76% - 81% D- 65% - 66%

B+ 90% - 92% C- 73% - 75% F 64%

B 87% - 89%

Infinite Campus

As of the 2008-2009 school year, Infinite Campus has been available. Student progress will be tracked using Infinite Campus (offering parents, with computer access, real time access to their child’s school information). To utilize this system, parents MUST pick up their Infinite

Campus access code; this will require parents to show proof of identification when picking up the access code. Because IC information is confidential, pass codes cannot be distributed without ID verification.

Grading Periods

Students will be given report cards three times a year, every twelve weeks. Progress reports will be sent home during the middle of each grading period for students. ALL INCOMPLETE GRADES MUST BE MADE UP WITHIN TWO WEEKS AFTER THE END OF THE TERM OR THE GRADES WILL BE CHANGED TO ZEROES. Teachers are expected to make contact with parent/guardians if a student is not meeting the class requirements. The tentative grading periods for the 2012-2013 school year are:

1st Trimester: August 15- November 16

2nd Trimester: November 19-February 28

3rd Trimester: March 1- May 21
