Division Council Meeting Updates

Student Success & Support Program

·  Continuing to process contracts for students that are trying to add or drop classes and processing level 2 probation students from previous semesters who are now returning.

·  ITS ran probation program and academic standing has been placed on transcripts and the list of probation students and labels have been generated for mail-out.

·  Students placed on probation level 2 do not have a registration hold and holds will be placed after the withdrawal deadline on April 19, 2014.

·  The probation level 1 and 2 notices were placed on February 3, 2014 after the late add process.

·  Currently reviewing dismissal letter.

·  Currently finishing probation letter stuffing/stamping/sealing to be mailed out the week of March 10, 2014.

·  Finished updating the SEP handbook.

·  Screening contracts to verify SEP completion within a year and to determine if the student needs a probation contract and to schedule students for counseling appointments or SEP workshop.

·  Finalized the spring 2014 workshop schedule and emailed the schedule to all classified staff and Matric Team counselors on 1/13/2014.

·  Revised “How to log on to MyECC”, “ECC Academic Resources & Support Programs” handouts for new and continuing students, these are distributed during orientations and SEP workshops.

·  Updating content for the 2014-2015 student planner.

Online Orientation

·  Keeping track of students who completed online orientation and entering the data on SARS and onto the new Datatel screens, she is also entering information onto Datatel of new students who completed an educational plan.

·  Students at the high schools have been stating that they are not able to log on to the current online orientation.

·  ITS has been contacted about this problem and they are currently trying to resolve it.

Registration Groups

·  Will revise flyers for registration groups to be posted around key areas on campus to promote Registration Groups during the next registration period

·  Will also work on schedule for registration groups to be held in April 2014.

Project Success

·  Opportunity Drawing tickets were distributed to the first year Project Success student for fundraising on Wednesday, February 25, 2014

·  Black College Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 on the Library Lawn from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. There are 18 HBCU representatives scheduled to attend the fair. A mass invite for high schools students was also sent. Following the fair, there will be a HBCU workshop in the Distance Education Center from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. The presenters are Ken Key, Nikki Barber and E. Elaine Moore.

·  The A2Mend Conference is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the LAX Marriott from 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Brain Mims will conduct a workshop.

·  The Social Justice Fair is schedule for Thursday, March 6, 2014 on the Library Lawn from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Project Success students will volunteer their time and inform fair attendees about the program. There are a total of 6 Project Success students who will volunteer.

·  The Project Success 27th Annual Awards Luncheon will be on Thursday, April 24th in the Alondra Room from 12:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m.

Puente Project

·  Continuing the Human Development 5 and English 1A class (Dr. Jaffe took over Spring 2014 because Dr. Ketai is out on Maternity leave)

·  Around 14 students are transferring for fall 2014 to a four year university. Students have been receiving acceptance letters from the CSUs

·  The Transfer Center and Puente Program are working together and are going to tour the University of San Diego and UC, Santa Barbara in spring.

·  In the Spring 2014, Puente student will be attending the Museum of Tolerance.

·  Puente Counselor attended the Puente Southern CA training in Riverside, CA on Thursday, February 20 -21st.

·  Starting the Puente 29 cohort recruitment for 2014-2015 academic year.

·  Working on an online Puente Referral Application for new students.

·  Preparing for the Noche de Consejos, Part II event on Thursday, March 6th.

·  Preparing for the End of the Year Banquet for Thursday, May 1, 2014.

EOP&S/CARE Program

·  Provided weekly new student orientations

·  Provided weekly group counseling sessions for new EOP&S Students entering the program.

·  Evaluated students files to check 70 unit/6 semester program limits in order to be incompliance with T5 Regulations.

·  Provided on going counseling and registration assistance for new & continuing EOP&S Students.

·  Checked over 500 student files to see if students were incompliance with program requirements.

·  Processed and provided new & continuing students with over 300 book vouchers

·  Provided an EOPS/Cal Works/CARE Staff Advance “Just Do It” Information that was covered Important Office guidelines: Student Success Updates: Updates/Reviews

·  Provided EOP&S Staff Meetings

·  Provided EOP&S Counseling Meetings

·  Provided Training for new EOPS Counselors
