STUDENT & PARENT INFORMATION MEETING:

TALLAHASSEE TRIP MARCH 9th & 10th

1. CHAPERONE/GROUPS: Except for meals, students MUST stay together with chaperones.

2. BUS RIDE: Students may switch seats on the bus as both parties agree

3. RULES: All school rules except that gum, properly disposed, is allowed (expect in the Capital and Supreme Court). Students are expected to behave as representatives of Hinson Middle. Be certain to say please and thank you to those adults who are making this trip possible (chaperones, bus drivers, tour guides, food services, ect.) If you think it might be wrong thing to do, DON’T DO IT

4. MEDICATION: Mr. Dickens will be handling all medication for all the boys and Mrs. Chance will be handling all the medication for all the girls. We have a list and will send for the student when it is time for them to take their medication.

5. ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE: Please be at school at 4:45 A.M on Wednesday, March 9th to check in with your chaperone and load the bus. We expect to be back at the school around 6:00 P.M on Thursday, March 10th. Parents will be called by cell phone when we are about 30 minutes away from the school. Parents, please be waiting for the bus. The adults need to get home to their families as soon as possible.

6. HOTEL ROOM: Boys may not visit girls’ room and girls; may not visit boys’ room. No one may switch rooms. The outside of each room door will be taped and students are not to leave their rooms at night unless they have to reach a chaperone for an EXTREME emergency such as illness.

7. Students must be respectful to other is the hotel. Noise should be kept to a minimum, no running in the halls, TV on low, ect.

8. ELECTRONICS: Hand-held electronics with earphones and cell phones may be brought on the trip. No laptops or DVD players. Electronic games may NOT be attached to the hotel TV.

9. DRESS CODE: Since we are going to the Legislative & Supreme Court, students will dress in “business casual” both days. Please wear long pants or jeans. No t-shirts, no torn clothing, no shorts, no flip-flops. Boys wear a collared shirt such as a polo shirt, Be properly groomed.

10. PACKING: You are allowed two small bags, one to go under the bus which will not be available until we reach the hotel, and a second backpack or a small bag to go on the bus. For the hotel bag (under the bus) pack a change of clothes, including a clean shirt, underwear, socks, pajamas, and toiletries such as toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, and feminine products. For the bag on the bus, you may bring items such as a cell phone, camera, snack food, comb or brush, money for snacks & souvenirs, ($15-$30), reading material, deck of cards, small electronics/IPOD, pillow, small blanket. If you have a PG or G rated movie that you would like to show on the bus, be certain to put your name on it and give it to the bus leader.
