STUDENT POLICE OFFICER RECRUITMENT

Thank you for your interest in joining Warwickshire Police and West MerciaPolice. Before you proceed with your application, please check that you meet all the following criteria to ensure that you are eligible to apply to become a police constable:

You must:

  • be 18 years of age or over at the time of applying;
  • be a British citizen or a citizen of a country that is a member of the European Economic Area or Switzerland, or a Commonwealth citizen or foreign national who is resident in the UK and free from restrictions;
  • have a level 3 qualification (i.e. 2 ‘A’ levels (A-C grade), or equivalent)or have served as a Special Constable for 3 years or have been employed in a police service role involving regular contact with the public or investigative activities for at least 2 years(for example; a PoliceCommunity Support Officer, Communications Operator);
  • be physically fit and able to pass the job related fitness test;
  • meet the minimum eyesight standards for corrected (glasses or contact lenses) and uncorrected vision;
  • hold a full, valid UK driving licence at the time of your appointment.

You must not

  • have a conviction as an adult or juvenile (although some minor offences and cautions may not exclude you);
  • be registered bankrupt with outstanding debts, have outstanding County Court Judgments against you, or be subject to a current Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA);
  • have tattoos which could cause offence to members of the public or colleagues, or be considered lewd, garish or provocative;
  • have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of under 18 or over 30. You will not be medically cleared for appointment whilst your BMI is outside this range.
