FacultyCenterGeneral Overview
The FacultyCenter is a self-service component that provides instructors a single entry point from which to access instructor-related transactions. From the FacultyCenter, instructors can do the following:
- View their class schedule.
- View their grade roster and enter grades.
- View their class roster.
- View advisee information.
- Search for classes and browse the catalog.
Navigation:
Self Service > FacultyCenter
FacultyCenter Page
- Instructors use the FacultyCenter page to access instructor-related transactions and to view their teaching schedule. Instructors see only those terms for which they are assigned as the instructor.
/ To select a different term, click on the drop-down arrow and select the term. Click
/ Click to review the college’s FERPA statement.
/ To change the view in My Teaching Schedule area, click the desired button.
Select to display all classes for which you are assigned to teach. Classes without enrollment are included.
Select to display only those classes with enrollment.
Select to display your weekly teaching schedule in grid format.
/ Legend to explain icons found in My Teaching Schedule.
Class Roster
/ The teaching schedule for the term selected is displayed.
Click to download a copy of the Teaching Schedule to Excel.
Click the class link to view details about the class. Details include session of class, class start/end dates, location, class availability, and meeting information.
Click to access the class roster. If you have selected the Show All Classes option, the class roster icon will not be displayed for classes without enrollment.
Click to access the grade roster. The grade roster icon will not be available until the Records Office has generated the grade roster.
View My Weekly Schedule
On the FacultyCenter page, click this button.
Class RosterOn the FacultyCenter page, click the Class Roster icon.
Class Roster Page Options/ To select a different group of students to view in the class roster, click on the drop-down and select the desired value. Click . Choices are Enrolled, All, Dropped, Waiting. LFCC does not use the Wait feature.
/ Click to download a copy of the roster to Excel.
/ Click to send an email notification to selected students.
The check box next to the student’s name must be selected.
/ Click to send an email notification to all students on class roster.
Displayed when student does not have a preferred email address.
No Reply
The message you have just sent cannot be delivered because it was improperly addressed.
The "reply" feature cannot be used on the message you are responding to. Please look carefully at the original message and manually address your reply to the appropriate person. / If recipient of email uses respond feature, recipient receives this message.
/ Click to print class roster.
/ Click to return to the FacultyCenter page.
/ Click to access the Grade Roster.
Grade Roster
On the FacultyCenter page, click to access the Grade Roster.
On the Class Roster page, click to access the Grade Roster.
/ Defaults to Final Grade. For entering grades, the Grade Roster Type must be Final Grade.
/ To enter grades, the Approval Status must be Not Reviewed. After grades are entered and saved in the Not Reviewed Status, the Approval Status must be changed to Approved and the roster must be saved again.
/ Click to download a copy of the roster to Excel.
Click to expand columns to the right.
/ Click on the drop-down and select the grade.
/ Displayed when F or U grade is selected in the Roster Grade field.
/ Click to send an email notification to selected students.
The check box next to the student’s name must be selected.
/ Click to send an email notification to all students on grade roster.

Advisement Page
Click the Advisement tab.
Advisors can view all of their advisees’ class schedules, term grades, degree progress reports, transfer credit reports, and unofficial transcripts. The same information can be viewed for students that are not assigned to the advisor for advising. These are referred to as New/Drop-In Advisees.
Advisement Page
Advisement Page Options/ Click to view negative service indicator details.
/ Click to view positive service indicator details.
/ Indicates Ferpa restrictions on student record. Click to view details.
Go button / Click on the drop-down and select the data you wish to access. Available data includes class schedules, grades, degree progress, and unofficial transcripts.
Click the Go button.
/ Click to view class schedules, grades, degree progress, and unofficial transcripts for students that are not assigned as your advisee.
Click the Search button.
Enter the student’s ID number.
Click the Look Up button and select the student.
Click on the drop-down and select the data you wish to access. Available data includes class schedules, grades, degree progress, and unofficial transcripts.
Click the change button.
/ Click to send an email notification to all advisees.

Degree Progress Report
Click the Advisement tab.
Go button / On the Advisement page, click on the drop-down in the Student Details field and select Degree Progress.
Click Go button. The Degree Progress Report page opens.
/ Academic Institution – Click on the drop-down and select Va LordFairfaxCommunity College.
Report Type – Click on the drop-down and select Advisement Transcript – ADVSR.
Click the go button.
/ Report Results page opens with Degree Progress report.
Scroll down to view the entire report.
/ To print the report, click the printer button on the toolbar.
/ To exit the Report Results page and return to the Degree Progress Report page,click the Return link.
/ From the Degree Progress Report page, click to return to the Advisement page.
Quick What-if Degree Progress Report
Click the Advisement tab.
Use to enter hypothetical career, program/plan, and requirement term information.
Go button / On the Advisement page, click on the drop-down in the Student Details field and select Degree Progress.
Click Go button. The Degree Progress Report page opens.
/ Academic Institution – Click on the drop-down and select LordFairfaxCommunity College.
Report Type – Click on the drop-down and select Advisement Transcript – ADVSR.
Click the Quick What-if button. The Quick What-if Analysis Report page opens.
/ Enter or select the following Override Options:
Requirement Term
Career – CRED / Enter or select desired Term
Program
Override – CURR / Enter or select desired Term
Plan
Override- Enter or select desired Plan code. / Enter or select desired Term
Sub-Plan
Override – Blank / Blank
/ Click OK.
/ Report Results page opens with Quick What-if Degree Progress report.
Scroll down to view the entire report.
/ To print the report, click the printer button on the toolbar.
/ To exit the Report Results page and return to the Degree Progress Report page, click the Return link.
/ From the Degree Progress Report page, click to return to the Advisement page.
Unofficial Transcript
Click the Advisement tab.
Go button / On the Advisement page, click on the drop-down in the Student Details field and select Degree Progress.
Click Go button. The Degree Progress Report page opens.
/ Academic Institution – Click on the drop-down and select LordFairfaxCommunity College.
Report Type – Click on the drop-down and select Unofficial Transcript.
Click the go button.
/ Report Results page opens Unofficial Transcript.
Scroll down to view the entire transcript.
/ To print the report, click the printer button on the toolbar.
/ To exit the Report Results page and return to the Unofficial Transcript Report page, click the Return link.
/ From the Unofficial Transcript Report page, click to return to the Advisement page.
Advisee Class Schedule
Click the Advisement tab.
Use to view an advisee’s class schedule.
Go button / On the Advisement page, click on the drop-down in the Student Details field and select Class Schedule.
Click Go button. The Advisee Class Schedule page opens.
/ To select a different term, click on the drop-down arrow and select the term. Click
/ To print the class schedule, click the printer button on the toolbar.
/ Click to return to the Advisement page.
Advisee Grade Inquiry
Click the Advisement tab.Use to view an advisee’s grades.
Go button / On the Advisement page, click on the drop-down in the Student Details field and select Grades.
Click Go button. The View My Advisee’s Grades page opens.
/ To select a different term, click on the drop-down arrow and select the term. Click
/ Click to print grades.
/ Click to return to the Advisement page.
Class Search Page
Click the Class Search tab.
Use to search the schedule of classes or browse the course catalog.
Class Search Page
Search for ClassesClick the Class Search tab.
/ Institution – On the Class Search page, click on the drop-down and select the Institution.
Term - Click on the drop-down and select the Term.
Click the Search for Classes button.
Click Go. The Search for Classes page will open.
/ Enter at least two search criteria.
Course Subject – Enter or select the subject.
Course Number – Enter the course number.
Course Career – Click on the drop-down and select the career.
Select this check box to narrow the search to classes that are still available for enrollment.
Select this check box to narrow the search to classes that are offered in open entry/exit format. Currently, LFCC does not offer classes in this format.
/ If additional search criteria are needed, click this link and enter or select the additional criteria.
/ Click Search. The Search Results page will open with the Search Results.
/ If you receive the following prompt, click OK.
/ Click on the Section link to view additional information about the class. The Class Detail page opens with Information from the course catalog and schedule of classes.
When available, click to see all sections of a course.
/ Click to change the Institution or Term for the search.
/ Click to begin a new search.
/ Click to clear Search Criteria.
Browse Catalog
Click the Class Search tab.
/ Institution – On the Class Search page, click on the drop-down and select the Institution.
Term - Click on the drop-down and select the Term.
Click the Browse Catalog button.
Click Go. The Browse Catalog page will open.
/ Click on the first letter of the subject.
Select to view all courses in catalog.
Select to view only those courses from the catalog that are scheduled for the term selected. Results are displayed on the lower portion of the page.
/ Principles of Marketing Click on the Description link for the course. The Catalog Detail page opens with the course description.
Click to go to Class Search Results page for the selected course and term.
/ Click to change the Institution or Term for the catalog search.
