III. President Report:
a. Acceptance of Minutes from 4/18/2016

b. Welcoming Remarks
i. H. Brooks would like to welcome everyone to the 2016-2017 Senate.
c. Introductions
i. Review and Expectations: H. Brooks would like the new Senators to say why they joined SGA and one thing they want to get out of SGA. Would like returning senators to discuss one issue they think should be followed through next year, and one new thing they would like to get out of SGA next year.
d. Duties of a Senator: H. Brooks put a copy of the expectations of a Senator. It is very important that we represent the students well.
i. To uphold the constitution of the United States, The State of Connecticut and the SGA.
ii. To promote SGA to the University Community
iii. Shall attend all meetings, training sessions and assigned committee meetings.
e. Each senator must:
i. Hold a minimum of two office hours.
ii. Be a member of an SGA internal committee.
iii. Be a member of an external committee when necessary.
iv. Accept duties handed down to them by the E-Board members to assist in the smooth running of the SGA.
v. Be in good academic standing with the University.
vi. Hold an active line of communication with the Executive Board through their university provided email address.
f. Senators may be asked to:
i. Sit on Faculty or Administrative or Ad-Hoc Committees as appointed by the SGA President as needed.
g. Any senator that does not fulfill these duties will be subject to impeachment by the SGA.
IV. Vice President Report:
a. Welcoming Remarks:
i. Ch. Welch would like to thank everyone for their work last semester. Looking forward to working with the Senate next semester.
ii. Committee Head Applications: Can be picked up in H. Brooks’s office.
iii. Student Issues Committee Head: Assign duties to committee members and be willing to seek and take on student issues. Maintain good communication with the EBOARD.
iv. Public Relations Committee Head: Be responsible for how SGA is promoted. Their committee also runs elections.
v. BAM: T. Mack mentioned that BAM Oversees funding to Student organizations from SGA.
vi. Committee head applications are due Monday May 2nd.
b. Internal Committees Update
i. Committee Head Applications
ii. Budget and Management:
1. Student Organization Banquet: May 3rd at 5:30 pm
2. FRP appeals are happening over the next two weeks.
c. External Committees Update
i. Variety of different external committees. Try to have a Senator on each committee. They will be assigned in the fall.
ii. K. Ledezma asked if Senators are only allowed to serve on committees. H. Brooks said that delegates could also serve on committees.

b. Attendance Policy:
i. Policy is outlined in the constitution. Senators are to contact the secretary if they are going to be absent from a meeting.
ii. ½ absence if excused 1 absence if unexcused.
iii. Dress Code: Business casual ¼ absence if not in business casual attire.

i. Each senator will be expected to complete two office hours per week. More information about office hours will follow in the fall.
