OUTGOING STUDENT FEEDBACK FORM 2011/12
Bocconi University 1 of 1
INDUCTION/ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
What did this involve, how long did it last, was it useful?
Two week intensive crash course in Italian, must attend at least 75%, found it difficult to keep up as most people had prior Italian knowledge and things explained in Italian if not understood
ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
Style of teaching, courses, ease of access to courses, methods of assessment, teaching support
Learning carried out through lectures, potential to be rescheduled at the last minute or extra classes added in – therefore difficult to find 30 ECTS per semester with timetables that do not clash.
MBS INTERNATIONAL TEAM
Level of support, additional information that could have been useful
Office was helpful, quick at replying to any queries or concerns I had. Efficient and sent emails to check of safety with regards to the Italian earthquakes.
HOST INTERNATIONAL OFFICE
Level of support, additional information that could be useful for future students
Email service for ISD at Bocconi quick at replying, most efficient service I encountered within the university.
INSURANCE, HEALTH COVER
Please include any information relating to the purchase of compulsory health insurance ie costs etc. or whether this was waived by having the University of Manchester Insurance Policy
Healthcare and insurance was waived with the University’s insurance policy
INFORMATION ON ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS
This should be information on any extra fees that the University charged but should not include accommodation, books, transport, visa etc.
No extra fees were encountered
ACCOMMODATION
As much information as possible on what accommodation is recommended or not recommended.
Arcobaleno – fairly far from the university but 20 minute tram directly there (similar layout to fallowfield – university – city centre), cleaners once a week so clean and liveable halls pretty basic but extremely social and lively. Always people around the kitchens if you want to hang out. Living quarters such as a kitchenette and bathroom shared with one other in mini-style apartments. Residency management fairly lax with regards to social activities, noise and visitors, only becomes a problem if you are disturbing others.
DESTINATION INFORMATION AND OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Transport, travel, social life, integration with local students, student activity groups
Monthly tram pass for students available from the duamo ATM, 17 euros per month that can be topped up at T stores. Wind is the most common mobile provider and there is a large student exchange group to organize activities and social events, they also have an ESN facebook page.
