Student Communications Assistant – Term Time

The Marketing & Communications Department plays a vital role in promoting the Students’ Union’s mission and services to its members. The department serves as the face of the Students’ Union (SU), coordinating and producing all materials which are critical in engaging and reaching out to Leeds Beckett students. It also plays a large part in delivering key student events and projects alongside other departments.

Marketing & Communications provide a high level of service and support, working with other Students’ Union departments such as Student Voice, Volunteering, Societies, Advice Service, Bars and Events. This is delivered through a number of ways which includes, but is not limited to:

• Defining and managing brand/s

• Producing marketing and promotional materials

• Creating content for multiple online and offline channels

• Monitoring and managing Social Media

• Delivery and coverage of key events and campaigns

• Defining strategy for individual campaigns/events/activity

Role

The Student Communications Assistant role is essential in helping the team to communicate with its 24000+ members, innovatively and effectively, through Social Media, the corporate website, as well as other essential channels. Through regular working hours and occasional out of hours events, the role will sit alongside a number of other student roles, supervised by the Digital Communications Coordinator, which will be responsible for engaging with our diverse body of membership.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Leeds Beckett student to work within the Marketing & Communications Team.

We are looking for a candidate with a good amount of experience with Social Media and content writing, with a keen desire to learn other relevant skills for the role to develop.

Hourly rate:

Under 25: £7.05p/h

Over 25: £7.50p/h
