Application Process

Students who have been on the 2016-2017 Student Activities Board Committees should fill out this application. The completed application should be submitted to the Leadership Center, Suite 2067 on the 2nd floor of the Reng Student Union, no later than 4:00p on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Late applications will not be accepted. Returners do not have to provide a reference nor participate in an individual interview. Should you have any additional questions please contact Morgan Crain, SAB Advisor, in the Leadership Center at .

Completed applications include the SAB Information Page, responses to applicant questions, and a signed understanding of the attendance policy (attached).

Organizational Structure

Student Activities Board is comprised of eight student directors. Directors are responsible for the research, planning, marketing, and implementation of both educational and entertainment events for the A-State student body. Each director has a committee that assists them with these tasks. Committees will meet with twice monthly, or at the discretion of the appropriate SAB Director.

Academic Standards

·  Enrolled at Arkansas State University as a full time student

·  Minimum Cumulative 2.5 GPA

·  Maintain good standing with the University & may not be on disciplinary probation

EXPECTATIONS

·  Attend SAB committee meetings twice monthly, every other Monday at 5:00 pm, or as scheduled at the discretion of the SAB Director.

·  Work closely with SAB Advisor and Directors.

·  Assist with the research, planning, marketing, and implementation of SAB events.

·  Aid in marketing of SAB events by posting on your personal social media accounts.

·  Committee Members must abide by the SAB Committee Member Attendance policy (see attached).

COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS & TENTATIVE EVENT DATES

Reng Student Union Events Committee

·  Focuses on working together to market, research, and implement High School Leadership Day in the fall and Mardi Gras in the spring.

Marketing & Recruitment Committee

·  Focuses on working together to best market all SAB events and SAB in general.

·  Responsible for implementing at least one non-traditional marketing tactic for every SAB event.

Homecoming & Springfest Committee

·  Focuses on working together to market, research, and implement Homecoming events in the fall and Springfest in the spring.

Spirit Club Committee

·  Focuses on working together to market, research, and implement of Order of the Pack in the fall and Pack Pride Day and Day at the Park in the spring.

·  Assists with A-State student spirit events that occur at home football games.

Cultural Enrichment Director

·  Focuses on working together to market, research, and implement a minimum of one event each semester that raises awareness or educates the A-State community.

·  Works together to create inclusive programming.

2017-2018 Committee Member Application Questions

ATTENDANCE POLICY

There may be only two committee meetings missed per semester and four events missed per semester. Committee Members are responsible for reporting to their designated director at events to sign in. Once a committee member has missed either two committee meetings or four events in one semester, the committee member will be notified of their removal from the board. Special circumstances will be taken into consideration and it is highly encouraged for committee members to speak with their director or the SAB Advisor if they are experiencing an issue with attendance.
