REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS ABOUT SOLS AND EXAMS:
AS THE END OF THE SEMESTER NEARS, STUDENTS ARE REMINDED THAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO STAY IN THE SOL/EXAM BLOCK THE ENTIRE TIME. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE ONCE YOU FINISH THE TEST. IF YOU HAVE A DOCTOR APPT OR COURT PLEASE MAKE PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS BY BRINGING IN SOMETHING FROM THE DOCTOR OR YOUR COURT SUPOENA AND CLEARING IT WITH AN ADMINISTRATOR. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR PARENTS ARE AWARE OF THIS AND MAKE YOUR ARRANGEMENTS ACCORDINGLY.
SENIORS WHO ARE EXEMPT FROM TAKING AN EXAM ARE EXEMPT FROM THE EXAM ITSELF; YOU ARE NOT EXEMPT FROM ANY REVIEW BEFORE THE EXAM TIME.

SPORTS:
1) Come out this Saturday and support our Boys’ Powderpuff Volleyball team at Fort Defiance as they take on teams from Fort, Wilson and Waynesboro. Doors open at 5:30 with the lst game starting at 6 pm. $5 admission.
2) There will be a meeting for all boys interested in playing football next year Thursday morning at 8 am in Room 17. This is regarding off season weight training.
3) GOOD LUCK to Wrestling at East Rockingham tonight!!
4) There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing girls’ soccer in Room 17 Thursday morning at 7:50.
SCHOOL COUNSELING INFORMATION:
DID YOU KNOW THE SDHS COUNSELING DEPARATMENT NOW HAS THEIR OWN TWITTER ACCOUNT? PLEASE FOLLOW THEM FOR IMPORTANT REMINDERS AND INFORMATION @SDHSGuidance!
1) Any10th grader interested in applying to Governor's School next year can sign up to shadow either the STEM or Arts program. Come see your School Counselor for the needed information to do a "Spend a Day" there.
2) Just a reminder to any 10th grader who has signed up to shadow at VCTC….a permission form MUST be returned in order to go.
COLLEGE VISITS:
All college visits are held during Cougar Return and is open for all Juniors & Seniors. This is an excellent opportunity for all interested students to meet with College Admissions Counselors and get a first hand account of what the school is looking for in an application and what programs are offered. Students must get a pass from Mrs. Halterman PRIOR to the day of the visit!
DETENTION Begins at 3:20 and runs until 4:00 pm No Detention on Mondays and Fridays.
1) Detention will be with Coach Floyd in Room 17 TODAY.
