Street Dance Facilitator Job Brief
Pegasus Theatre is seeking a Street Dance Facilitator to deliver 3 street dance classes for 8-11s, 11-15s, and 16-25 year olds this Autumn at Pegasus Theatre.
The brief
We are looking for a practitioner who can design an exciting and engaging 10 week street dance course culminating in a maximum 10minute piece of choreography per class, to be presented at an end-of-term sharing. The selected practitioner will be someone who can advance participants’ technique and skill, while also increasing their confidence and team-making abilities.
We would be keen to hear from practitioners from all disciplines and styles of dance, provided that the focus of the course is street dance.
We would like to hear from Practitioners who have:
- A high standard in their practice.
- A creative and flexible approach to delivering workshop sessions.
- Experience in working with young people aged 11-25.
- An ability to facilitate the creativity of others and encourage them to try something new, take creative risks and experiment.
- An ability to work collaboratively with young people and staff to develop the programme and projects they work on.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to liaise with participants in the project.
- An enhanced DBS disclosure or is willing to obtain this.
The Street Dance course will work with up to 25 students per class, on a weekly basis every Wednesday starting from Wednesday September 13th 2017 – Wednesday 29th November 2017, session times will be 4pm-9:00pm with breaks.
