Community Fun Day

I am the Treasurer of the Strawberry Vale Residents Association. Strawberry Vale is a Peabody housing estate in East Finchley, home to approximately 950 residents. The estate has a diverse mix of residents encompassing all ages, races and religions wholive together in a close and supportive community.

The Strawberry Vale Residents Association are having a Community Fun Day in conjunction with the charity Peabody Trust, who have recently merged with Family Mosaic and now have 55,000 homes and 111,000 residents. Following the merger Peabody say:‘Peabody’s social purpose will remain at the heart of our new organisation. We will put the most vulnerable first, building as many good quality homes for low-cost rent as we possibly can. We’ll create great places where people want to live. And we will help our people achieve all that they can in their lives through wide-ranging support and community programmes’.

We share this vision and wish to improve the lives of people who live on our estate regardless of age, race, religion, or financial income. We want everyone to feel safe, involved and a part of the community they live in.

We have many residents on our estate on low incomes and we want our Community Fun Day to be enjoyed by all. We have a limited budget and want to be able to provide the best day possible for everyone. To do this, we are reliant on local businesses to contribute in any way they can, whether it be a financial contribution or a prize for the tombola.

Our Community Fun Day will have a children’s area, with bouncy castles and face painting. We will have the emergency services in attendance with a fire engine and police car. There will be cream teas, cakes and food. We are having a football tournament and a bungee run. We will also have a music stage with professional singers and a talent show. There is something for everyone. It is going to be a fun day.

We would love you to be a part of it. We will be producing a programme and will mention all businesses that contribute to our Community Fun Day. All donations will be much appreciated, so please give what you can and help us make the day special for all.You are also welcome to attend. We are your community. Get involved.
