Job Purpose
To improve the learner experience and add value to individual learning by providing high quality advice,
guidance and support through tutorials. Enhance and track the learners’ journey.
Key Responsibilities
  • To plan and deliver the personal development tutorial programme through individual and group tutorials.
  • To ensure all learners develop and agree an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) at induction, and that all learners are set SMART targets which are monitored and updated on an on-going basis.
  • To lead learner induction in order to ensure learners have a firm understanding of the importance of target setting and performance management.
  • To collate and maintain accurate and up to date personal records on learners in the caseload, through the use of ILPs and Pro-Monitor.
  • To monitor regularly levels of attendance and retention and in conjunction with the Attendance and Retention Monitors (ARMs) ensure immediate action is taken to improve by direct contact with learners and parents.
    To participate in appropriate College activities, which include open evenings, parent evenings, information evenings, enrolment and induction.
  • To participate in activities specifically relevant to the curriculum area in which the post holder is assigned to.
  • To work closely with the Additional Learning Support team in order to ensure learners are given appropriate support to meet their learning needs where required.
  • To collate information for learner progress reports.
  • To work in conjunction with employment liaison officers and delivery teams to monitor work experience progress for ILP.
  • To record, monitor and track learners’ progress in accordance with College policies, procedures and service standard, in liaison with Additional Learning Support staff.
  • To work closely with the Learner Services team, Careers team, Employment Liaison Officers and the Jobs Brokerage team to facilitate progression through the learners’ journey.
  • To work with the Learner Inclusion Champion in order to promote Learner Voice.
  • To administer questionnaires, including learner surveys.
  • To collate destination information in order to contribute to the Destination Report.
  • To carry out prospective learner interviews.
  • To contribute to Faculty and Team meetings as appropriate.
  • To be a trained Safeguarding Officer.
  • To assist the team with any other duties relevant to the post
  • To perform all necessary administrative and auditable tasks associated with the post.
  • To continually develop and improve the tutorial programme to meet the needs of all learners in liaison with the Personal Coach Co-ordinator.
  • To maintain discretion and confidentiality throughout, where appropriate.
  • To ensure health and safety is managed at a level which reflects best practice in this area of the curriculum.
  • To demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing demands in personal, faculty or the College’s workload.
  • To take responsibility for one’s own professional development and continually update as necessary.
