STANDARDCONDITIONSOFHIRE

LIABILITY

1.THEHIRERshallindemnifythePCC,itsofficersandemployeesinrespectofthecost ofrepairofany damagedonetoanypartofthe buildingoritscontentsduringorasaresultofabooking(includinganylossofincomebythePCCarisingfromthedamage)andinrespectofany liabilitytothirdpartiesorotherwisearisingoutoftheuseofthe buildingpursuanttothebooking.

2.THEHIRERmustensurethatappropriatethirdparty liabilityinsuranceexistsforaminimumlevelof£2millionThePCCaccepts noliabilityforaccidents,injuries,damageand/orlossofpersonalpropertyasaconsequenceof usingthebuilding.THE HIRERmaybeaskedtodisclosetheirinsurancecovertoverifythis.

3.Intheeventof thebuilding beingrenderedunfitforusebyTHEHIRER,thePCCshallbeundernoliabilityforanyresultinglossordamagewhatsoever.

PAYMENT CANCELLATION

4.THEHIRERshallpaythehirechargeand exceptional cleaning/damage returnable depositprior toconfirmationofabooking.Ifanychequeforanypaymentisdishonoured,afterconfirmationofabooking,thebookingwillbeautomaticallyandwithoutnoticecancelled.

5.IfTHEHIRERwishestocancelthebooking,thePCCmay,atitsabsolutediscretion,refundthefeesbutshallbeundernoobligationtodo so.

6.ThePCCreservesthe righttocancelthebookingifexceptionalunforeseencircumstancesarise.IntheeventofthePCCcancellingthebooking,allfees/depositspaid bytheHirershallberefunded.

LICENSING

THE HIRERshallberesponsiblefortheobservanceofallregulationsaffectingthebuildingimposedbytheLicensingJustices,theFireAuthority,theLocalAuthorityorotherwise.

7.Alcoholcannotbesoldinthebuilding.THEHIRERisnotpermittedtoapplyforoccasionallicensesforthe saleofintoxicatingliquorinthe building.

SAFETY

8.THE HIRERshallnotsub-letorallowanyotherperson(s)tousethe premisesnorshalltheyusethepremisesorcommonareasforanyunlawfulpurposeorin anyunlawfulwayordoorpermitanythingorbring orpermittobebroughtintothebuildinganythingwhichmayendangerthebuilding,itsusers,oranyinsurancepoliciesrelatingthereto.

9.Foreventsinvolvingchildren,THEHIRERconfirmsthattheyarefamiliarwiththeHomeOfficecodeofpractice'SafefromHarm',andnotes the Child Protection guidelines displayed on the notice board at the main entrance to the premises.THEHIRERunderstandsthesepoliciesproceduresandundertakestofollowtheirrecommendationsinrelationtoanyworkwithchildrenandyoungpeople. Childrenarenotallowedinthekitchen.

10.THEHIRERshallduringtheperiodofhiring,beresponsibleforsupervisionand securityofthebuilding,protectionofthefabricandcontentsfromdamage,andthebehaviourofallpersonsusingthe buildingorhavingaccesstothebuilding,includingpropersupervisionofcarparkingarrangements(ifany)soastoavoidobstruction to the adjacent sheltered housing. Unrestricted and unlimited parking is available in the surrounding roads.

11.THEHIRERshallifpreparing,servingorselling foodobserveallrelevantfoodhealthandhygienelegislationandregulations.

GENERALUSE

12.THEHIRERshall,ifsellinggoodsonthepremises,complywithallrelevantfairtradinglawsandanylocalcodeofpracticeissuedinconnectionwithsuchsales.

13.THEHIRER acknowledgesthatnotenancyisintendedtobecreated betweenthePCCandTHEHIRERandnorelationshipoflandlordandtenantexistsbetweenthem.

14.THEHIRERshallensurethattheRulesgoverningtheuseofthebuilding arecompliedwith.

15.TherightisreservedforarepresentativeofthePCCtoenteranypartofthebuildingatanytime.

RULESGOVERNINGUSEOFBUILDING

GENERAL

a.StJohn'sisaCHRISTIANCHURCHandactivitiesinconsistentwiththechurch'sethosstatementare not allowedinthebuilding.Noactsofworship,otherthanChristianworship,arepermittedinthebuilding.

b.BOOKINGTIMESmustbeadheredtoandmustincludesettingupandclearinguptime.PriorpermissionforanyextensionmustbeobtainedinwritingandmaybewithheldatthePCC'sabsolute discretion. THE HIRERbooksfortheuseofthepremisesandnotthesurroundingarea.TheHirerisresponsiblefor thepreservationofgoodorder.

c. THEPCCreservestherighttorefusebookingswithouttheneedtogive reasons.ThePCC'sdecisioninthismatterisfinalandnotopen tonegotiation.

d.THEPCCand/ortheRECTORreservestherighttoretainalloranypartofthesumpaidinexceptional cleaning/damagedeposittocoverlossesandexpensesincurredbythePCCasa resultof mess/damagecausedbythehirer.

e.ALLADVERTISINGmaterialmustbesubmittedtothe CentreManagerforapproval.Allsuchmaterialmustclearlydisplaythenameofthepersonororganisationresponsiblefortheevent.

f. EVENING USE All hires must vacate the building by 21.30hrs. No

extensionsbeyondthistimecanbeaccepted.

g.NOISE/DISTURBANCE.THEHIRERisresponsibleforensuringtheavoidanceofallunnecessarynoiseordisturbancelikelytocause annoyancetooccupantsofsurroundingpropertiesduringtheperiodofhireandondeparture.

CAREOFBUILDING

h.CAREOFTHEBUILDING.THEHIRERisexpectedtotakereasonablecareofthebuilding,fittings,equipmentandfurniture,andinparticularisnotpermittedtoputnails,sellotape,blutackorotherfixingsintothewalls, ,flooror ceiling.

i.DAMAGE. THEHIRERshallbeliabletopayforalldamagecausedby

accidentorimproperuseeithertothefabricorequipment.AnybreakageswithinthebuildingmustbereportedtotheCentre ManagerandwillbechargedinvoicedtoTHEHIRER.Fireappliancesmustonlybeusedingenuinecasesofemergency.

j.THEHIRERshallnotinterfereinanywaywiththeelectricalequipmentofthebuilding.Anyequipmentbroughttothebuildingforuseshall beeffectivelyearthedandfitted with a3-pin13-ampplugfusedatnotmorethan13amps.

j.UNLOCKING & LOCKINGUP.The Centre Caretaker will unlock, de-alarm and provide access to the premises at the appropriate time. At the end of the event the cleaners/caretaker will be responsible for closing, locking and alarming the premises.

SMOKINGisnotallowedinanypart ofthebuilding,including thetoilets.

m.CLEANINGUP.THEHIRERisresponsibleforleavingthepremisesinacleanandtidystateandfortheremovalofall uneaten food and drink. Re-cycling refuse should be put in the outside blue bin or taken away by the HIRER. The large range topped church bin can be used for general rubbish by the HIRER.

ACCESS

n.NOACCESSwillbepermittedtoanypartofthebuildingotherthantheareas which have been booked..

o.PARKING.Thereislimitedon-siteparking. Free unrestricted parking is available in surrounding roads.

p.ANIMALS. Onlyguidedogsarepermittedinsidethebuilding.

SAFETY

q.FIREEXTINGUISHERS.THEHIRERshouldfamiliarisethemselveswithfireregulations,appliancesandexits.TheFireBrigadeshouldbecalledouttoanyoutbreakoffire,howeverslight,and theincidentreportedtotheCentre Manager.

r.FIREEXITSmustnotbeobstructedatanytime. The HIRER should familiarize themselves with the EMERGENCY & EVACUATION procedures displayed in the building.

s.SMOKEDETECTORS.TherearesmokedetectorsinStJohn'sCentreandundernocircumstancesshouldanykindofsmokebeusedasthiswillsetoffthefirealarms.

t.FIREALARMACTIVATIONPOINTS.Exceptinagenuineemergencywherethereisneedtovacatethebuildingduetoanoutbreakoffire,THEHIRERshouldensurethatnoonetamperswiththeactivationpointsasthiswillsetoffthefirealarm.

u.FIRSTAID.Afirstaidboxislocatedon the wall nexttotheLadies toilets.

v.ACCIDENTS.AnyincidentinvolvingpersonalinjurymustberecordedintheAccidentBook(locatedwiththeFirstAidbox).Seriousinjuriesshouldbereportedto theCentre Managerassoonasisfeasible.

w.HIGHLYFLAMMABLEsubstancesarenotpermittedonthepremises.

x.TELEPHONES.Therearenopublictelephonesinthebuilding.THE HIRERmustensurethattheyhaveaccesstoamobiletelephoneincaseofemergencies.
