RACE 1 [TF609]

OPEN BENCHMARK 53 POLYTRACK 1000M

DIVISION 1

VANTAGE (App R Hasri) was restless in the barrier.

POWERPAC (App T Rehaizat) jumped away awkwardly and made contact with VANTAGE.

GERMAN ROULETTE (App TH Koh) was crowded on jumping between FLY FREELY (App Z Zuriman), which jumped outwards and DOUBLE S (App JL Li), which shifted inwards after jumping away extremely awkwardly.

VANTAGE showed no early pace.

POWERPAC raced wide throughout.

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, FLY FREELY, which was attempting a run between POWERPAC and SPEEDY PHIL, was bumped inwards and became awkwardly placed on the heels of SPEEDY PHIL for some distance.

Approaching the 150m, FLY FREELY had to be eased when disappointed for a run between POWERPAC, which laid inwards and SPEEDY PHIL (App SB Ng), which laid outwards.

App K A’Isisuhairi, the rider of SPEEDY DWARF, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

Trainer D Kok, when questioned regarding the improved performance of INDULGE, stated that he had freshened the gelding up with a short break. He also stated that today’s race was a drop in class and although it was not their intention to lead, with no pace in the race, INDULGE had been able to obtain a forward position and was able to dictate the pace which may have contributed to its improved performance. His explanation was noted.


RACE 2 [TF610]

RESTRICTED MAIDEN POLYTRACK 1100M

WEIGHT FOR AGE

(2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

Due to a delay resulting from the lightning in the vicinity of the Race Course prior to Race 2, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1320Hrs.

Shortly after the start, GLOBAL CAST (S John) shifted outwards and bumped PERFECT CHARGER (O Chavez) onto EISHIN BRIGHT (S Sam), which in turn made contact with the hindquarters of MORRIS (J Moreira). As a result, PERFECT CHARGER and EISHIN BRIGHT both became unbalanced. Shortly thereafter, SUPER SIX (Alan Ng) was crowded for room for a number of strides between GOOD SCORE (App P Dellorto) and TOMORROWS DREAMS (App R Zawari), which shifted outwards.

Approaching the 1000m, JUST BLESSED (E Aslam) and GLOBAL CAST both had to be steadied when crowded for room between HAPPY FOREVER (D Beasley), which initially shifted outwards and PERFECT CHARGER, which then shifted inwards.

Passing the 800m, GLOBAL CAST had to be steadied off the heels of JUST BLESSED, which when racing keenly, was being eased off the heels of PERFECT CHARGER.

MORRIS and SPARKLING STAR (I Santana) both raced wide throughout.

PERFECT CHARGER hung outwards shortly after passing the 800m.

Passing the 200m, TOMORROWS DREAMS was crowded when buffeted between LET’S TALK NOW (KB Soo), which rolled outwards and HAPPY FOREVER, which shifted inwards away from PERFECT CHARGER.

TOMORROWS DREAMS then had difficulty obtaining a clear run over the concluding stages.

The Farrier reported that TOMORROWS DREAMS and SPARKING STAR both returned having cast their off-hind plate and off-fore plate respectively.

RACE 3 [TF611]

CLASS 4 LC (E) 1400M

DIVISION 2

On jumping, ENZO (App P Dellorto) brushed the side of its barrier with its head and in doing so, the near-side Blinker Cup became detached.

JETSET MAN (J Moreira) and ENZO were both slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, ENZO shifted inwards and bumped the hindquarters of KLEVER MAN (J Powell).

Near the 1000m, FUKU ICHIBAN (KT Cheng) got its head up when being steadied off the heels of KLEVER MAN, which shifted inwards. FUKU ICHIBAN continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter.

Passing the 1000m, FLYING WILD (I Santana) eased when crowded between GOOD TOWKAY (D Chee), which rolled inwards marginally and RICHWEST (J Verenzuela), which shifted outwards.

GOOD TOWKAY raced wide throughout.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on JETSET MAN which revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on RICHWEST which revealed that the gelding returned not striding out freely.

RACE 4 [TF612]

KRANJI STAKES C POLYTRACK 1000M

Prior to the running of Race 4, Trainer M Clements advised the Stewards that his instructions to Jockey M Nunes, the rider of TREASUREINTHEHEART, if circumstances permit, to ride out the horse hands and heels in the straight and only use the whip if the horse was not responding.

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back ten minutes and rescheduled to start at 1425Hrs.

U GOT IT (App M Firdaus) and PETRENUI (D Beasley) both began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, BAZINGA (App R Shafiq) steadied to avoid the heels of RONNIE BROWN (J Moreira), which shifted outwards.

Passing the 600m, BLACK RAIN (M Kellady), which had a tendency to lay outwards, had to be eased away from the heels of JOYFUL MELODY (App K A’Isisuhairi), which rolled inwards.

Passing the 200m, BAZINGA was taken inwards to avoid the heels of DANZIG ROCKET (I Santana), which shifted inwards when weakening.

App A’Isisuhairi, the rider of JOYFUL MELODY, reported that the gelding had returned with its saddle having shifted back during the race.


RACE 5 [TF613]

CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1600M

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back ten minutes and rescheduled to start at 1455Hrs.

Shortly after the start, WO AI NINN (J Verenzuela) steadied when crowded between JERAM ROSE WOOD (SH Lee) and NEWFOUNDJOY (I Santana), which shifted inwards.

Passing the 1500m, JERAM ROSE WOOD got its head up on a couple of occasions when being restrained.

NEWFOUNDJOY raced wide without cover throughout.

After passing the 500m, REAL GOODMAN (YF Leong) steadied off the heels of JERAM ROSE WOOD.

Approaching and passing the 400m, REAL GOODMAN was hampered and taken out off its course for a number of strides due to JERAM ROSE WOOD shifting outwards when improving. Jockey Lee was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

After passing the 200m, REAL GOODMAN, which was shifting inwards, steadied away from the heels of JERAM ROSE WOOD, which shifted outwards under pressure.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that NEWFOUNDJOY returned lame near-fore. NEWFOUNDJOY will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

RACE 6 [TF614]

CLASS 3 LC (E) 1200M

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back ten minutes and rescheduled to start at 1525Hrs.

TRAVERTINE (B Vorster), which was fractious in the barrier, was taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race. TRAVERTINE was then difficult to be loaded. It will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).


Shortly after the start, SICHUAN RULER (J Powell) shifted outwards and bumped MR MANI (M Nunes). PHILANTHROPIST (O Chavez) then lost ground when being steadied away from the heels of TRAVERTINE, which shifted outwards.

DYNASTY KNIGHT (Alan Ng), which raced keenly in the early stages, raced wide without cover throughout.

Near the 300m, TENUPONTEN (S Sam) shifted outwards and bumped FARRAND (S John).

Approaching the 200m, SICHUAN RULER shifted inwards and brushed MR MANI. Shortly after, MR MANI was crowded for a number of strides by SICHUAN RULER, which again shifted inwards under pressure. Jockey Powell was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Approaching the 200m, DYNASTY KNIGHT, which was tiring, steadied to avoid the heels of PHILANTHROPIST, which shifted inwards abruptly under pressure.

The Farrier reported that MR MANI returned having cast its near-fore plate.

RACE 7 [TF615]

OPEN BENCHMARK 53 POLYTRACK 1000M

DIVISION 2

Trainer L Dragon, when questioned regarding the significant decrease in the body weight of NOBLE KNIGHT (App S Alif), stated that it was the gelding’s first start for her and she had given the horse plenty of work including a number of Trials in the weeks leading up to this race. A Pre-Race veterinary examination passed NOBLE KNIGHT fit to race.

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back ten minutes and rescheduled to start at 1555Hrs.

BOLD BID (App Z Zuriman) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped ORIENTAL PEARL (M Airy) in onto LIGHTNING MAC (App R Shafiq).

Shortly thereafter, ECLAIR DESIRE (KK Ng), LUCKY BANKER (I Andy) and CRACKERJACK (E Aslam) were all crowded for room between ANAVILA (App LQ Kek) and ZAC HEAVEN (App K A’Isisuhairi), which shifted outwards. As a result, ECLAIR DESIRE and LUCKY BANKER both had to be steadied.

ZAC HEAVEN raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

FUKU’S PET (HK Cheng) and BOLD BID both raced wide throughout.

Shortly after passing the 800m, ZAC HEAVEN steadied to avoid the heels of ORIENTAL PEARL, which shifted inwards.

Approaching the 100m, LIGHTNING MAC was held up for a clear run.

CRACKERJACK hung inwards for the majority of the straight.

Jockey Aslam, the rider of CRACKERJACK, reported that the gelding had returned with its saddle having shifted back during the race. This was subsequently confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon.

Jockey Cheng, the rider of FUKU’S PET, reported that his horse returned lame. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LIGHTNING MAC which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 8 [TF616]

OPEN BENCHMARK 74 POLYTRACK 1700M

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1625Hrs.

LOYAL STEED (M Au) was slow into stride.

ITISWHATITIS (M Nunes) raced wide without cover in the early stages.

THE RUDE WARRIOR (S John) was held up for a clear run from the 700m to the 500m.

The Farrier reported that THE RUDE WARRIOR and GORDON ROBERTS (App TH Koh) both returned having cast their near-fore and near-hind plates respectively.

RACE 9 [TF617]

OPEN BENCHMARK 97 LC (E) 1400M

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1700Hrs.

EL PADRINO (O Chavez) was slow into stride.


A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on TOUCH OF GOLD (M Nunes) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

Following the running of Race 9, Jockey J Verenzuela, the rider of AROWANA DOT COM, was examined by the Course Medical Officer who declared him unfit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.

RACE 10 [TF618]

OPEN BENCHMARK 67 LC (E) 1800M

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1735Hrs.

BRAVO (A Munro) was crowded on jumping between CARTAGO (Alan Ng) and THE GREAT GREY (M Nunes), which was bumped inwards by TIGER MASTER (I Santana).

BEE AHEAD (App R Shafiq) jumped away awkwardly.

OVER EASY (App K A’Isisuhairi) was difficult to settle in the backstraight and brushed the running rail on a couple of occasions near the 1300m.

DRAGONFLY (J Moreira) was held up and unable to improve between the 800m and the 500m.

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, DRAGONFLY was held up on the heels of BEE AHEAD and was unable to secure a clear run. DRAGONFLY then had to be taken outwards in an attempt to obtain clear running.

OVER EASY had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the straight.

DRAGONFLY laid inwards over the final 150m.

Shortly after passing the 100m, SILVERON WARRIOR (D Beasley) was bumped when JOYOUS EXPRESS (O Chavez) shifted inwards when racing tight to the inside of CANNON HILL (B Vorster).

Jockey Moreira, when questioned regarding the run of DRAGONFLY, stated that he initially obtained a position behind BEE AHEAD, which he believed would race in a handy position. However, that horse got shuffled back in the field, resulting in him racing further back than he wanted and anticipated. He further stated that he would have liked to attempt to improve his position earlier, however, from the 1000m to the turn into the straight, he had a runner to his outside, as such, he was unable to improve his position. Shortly after entering the straight, he again had difficulty obtaining a clear run, necessitating him to angle to the outside to obtain a clear run. After obtaining clear running, DRAGONFLY had run on strongly under pressure and laid inwards over the final 100m. His explanation was noted.


RACE 11 [TF619]

CLASS 4 LC (E) 1400M

DIVISION 1

Due to a change in race times in Hong Kong following an objection Hearing, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start at 1805Hrs.

FUJIN BRIGHT (KK Ng) was slow into stride.

ALL SERENE (J Powell), which began awkwardly, proved very difficult to settle in the early stages.
