POLYTRACK (GOOD)

RACE 1 [TF909]

MAIDEN LC (D) 1400M

FANSOM (App R Shafiq), FREEDOM MAN (S Sam) and TRAP (I Saifudin) were all slow to begin.

SUPERNATURAL POWER (J Saimee) jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 1000m, JACK THE BULL (App JL Li), which was racing keenly, eased when tightened to the inside of AL-HAMID (Alan Ng), which rolled inwards.

ONEPLUSZERO ONE (I Andy) had a tendency to lay outwards in the straight.

SUPERNATURAL POWER, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Trainer D Koh, when questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of JACK THE BULL, stated that he felt the gelding was suited to the step up in distance of 1400m. He also added that in his opinion, JACK THE BULL was better suited on the turf track and had benefited from the light weight carried today. His explanation was noted.

RACE 2 [TF910]

RESTRICTED MAIDEN LC (D) 1400M

WEIGHT FOR AGE

(2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

SMART IDEA (I Santana) lost ground after jumping away awkwardly.

FAITHFUL WARRIOR (S Sam) and XAVIO (S Anandan) bumped on jumping.

POSITIVE THINKING (B Vorster) raced keenly in the backstraight.


Jockey J Saimee, the rider of CHAMPAGNE ROSE, stated that after travelling well in the early stages, the filly failed to respond when placed under pressure near the 900m. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on CHAMPAGNE ROSE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 3 [TF911]

CLASS 4 LC (D) 1200M

DIVISION 2

EATONS GOLD (I Santana), which was fractious and reared in the barrier, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

RAVOUX (A Munro) was crowded on jumping between BABY FACE (S Anandan) and RISING EMPIRE (I Saifudin), both of which shifted ground.

Shortly after the start, BLACK JACK (J Powell) lost ground when crowded between EXCITING AHEAD (J Saimee) and DEN (G Cheyne), which shifted inwards.

Near the 1100m, DEN steadied off the heels of RISING EMPIRE, which shifted inwards slightly.

RISING EMPIRE, which was wide throughout, raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Jockey Anandan will be questioned regarding the run of BABY FACE.

Jockey D Beasley, the rider of WOJCINSKI, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ACE ARMANDO (J Verenzuela) which revealed that the gelding returned not striding out freely.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BABY FACE which revealed no apparent abnormality.


RACE 4 [TF912]

CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1600M

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN (I Saifudin) was slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, SAVVY AS (J Verenzuela) was buffeted between JACK (A Munro) and TOP ASIA (R Lim), which was racing tight to the inside of WHO ELS (I Santana).

Shortly after passing the 1400m, TOP ASIA eased when tightened between WHO ELS and SAVVY AS, which rolled outwards.

DAN NOBLE (YF Leong) raced keenly in the early stages.

BEAUTIFUL WORLD (App R Shafiq) was difficult to settle in the backstraight.

Passing the 500m, TIEN CHAI (G Cheyne) had to be eased off the heels of DAN NOBLE, which lost ground when being steadied after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of QUI EST LA (Alan Ng).

TOP ASIA, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SAVVY AS which revealed no apparent abnormality.

DAN NOBLE was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.

RACE 5 [TF913]

CLASS 4 LC (D) 1800M

DEVONSHIRE (A Munro) jumped away awkwardly.

IRISH FLASH (I Saifudin), which was slow to begin, had to be steadied shortly after the start when awkwardly placed on the heels of VAYA CONDIOS (M Kellady).

CANSAVE (App R Shafiq) raced wide from the 1000m.

JUST DASHING (D Beasley) had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the straight.

Jockey J Verenzuela will be questioned regarding the run of GOLDEN DOMINATOR.


The Farrier reported that URBAN DANCER (S Baster) returned having cast its off-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on URBAN DANCER which revealed no apparent abnormality. URBAN DANCER, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

RACE 6 [TF914]

CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1200M

Trainer D Hill was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to submit his request for App LQ Kek to ride MR VANTASTIC without claiming his full allowance within the prescribed time at Declarations.

Jockey Alan Ng, the rider of WONDER GENERAL, claimed that he was denied a fair start. After reviewing the films and prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, the Stewards were of the opinion that WONDER GENEARL was not denied a fair start and WONDER GENERAL was declared a runner.

WONDER GENERAL was slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly.

TOP HAPPINESS (App M Firdaus) raced wide throughout.

ROLLTHEDICE (App R Shafiq) laid inwards from the 400m and approaching the 300m, made contact with TOP HAPPINESS.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on WONDER GENERAL which revealed that the horse returned having debris in its trachea.

RACE 7 [TF915]

YEW TEE CLASSIC STAKES POLYTRACK 1800M

SUPER GURU (KB Soo) jumped outwards at the start and made contact with MARTINCHO CAT (B Vorster).

MITRE PEAK (A Munro) was slow into stride.

SUPER GURU raced wide without cover throughout.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both FATKID (O Chavez) and MARTINCHO CAT which revealed no apparent abnormality.


RACE 8 [TF916]

GRADUATION LC (D) 1400M

Shortly after the start, GOLDEN CURL (A Munro) and GUSHA (I Santana) were both buffeted between RUNNING TALL (B Vorster) and IRISH COFFEE (J Saimee), which shifted outwards.

Near the 1300m, IRISH COFFEE, which was racing keenly, had to be steadied off the heels of GOD’S COBBA (App Z Zuriman), which shifted outwards.

Near the 1000m, IRISH COFFEE eased when tightened for racing room between GOLDEN CURL and RAFFLES PEGASUS (G Cheyne), which rolled outwards.

Approaching the 900m, GOD’S COBBA, which was racing keenly, got its head up when being eased off the heels of RUNNING TALL, which shifted inwards. GOLDEN CURL, which was following, was also inconvenienced in this incident.

GOD’S COBBA, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

RACE 9 [TF917]

KRANJI STAKES C LC (D) 1200M

TROPICAL FOREST (O Chavez) and RUSH (S Baster) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, ENCOSTA DIABLO (I Santana) eased when crowded between KING FAALCON (KB Soo) and LET’S SEE ACTION (G Cheyne), which shifted inwards.

TROPICAL FOREST raced wide without cover throughout.

NO RESPITE (J Powell) had a tendency to lay outwards in the straight.

Jockey D Beasley, when questioned regarding the run of LUCKY XUAN, stated that the gelding travelled well in the early stages and upon entering the straight, he attempted to shift outwards to obtain better going. However, LUCKY XUAN was inclined to lay inwards and raced greenly in the early part of the straight. Thereafter, LUCKY XUAN raced only fairly when placed under pressure. His explanation was noted.

Jockey B Vorster, the rider of TRUDEAU, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.


RACE 10 [TF918]

CLASS 4 LC (D) 1200M

DIVISION 1

As the start was effected, SEACREST (I Saifudin) refused to jump and took no part in the event. In view of its previous record and as SEACREST is a repeat offender, it will be barred from racing or entering for a test trial for a period of fourteen days, after which it must pass two consecutive starting stall tests and a subsequent veterinary examination.

COOL CAT (E Aslam) lost ground after jumping away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, SPYDER (B Vorster) was crowded between SAHORO (J Saimee) and ASCLEPIUS (S Baster), which shifted outwards.

Shortly after entering the homestraight, COOL CAT steadied inwards away from the heels of HOOPER (D Beasley), which shifted inwards.

Near the 400m, HOOPER was momentarily inconvenienced when GOODPACK (A Munro) shifted outwards to improve.

ASCLEPIUS, which hung outwards badly and raced extremely wide throughout the race placing its rider at a disadvantage, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Over the concluding stages, DAZZLING KIND (G Cheyne) eased when crowded between SPYDER and COOL CAT, which shifted outwards. Jockey Aslam will be shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both ASCLEPIUS and SUPER AHEAD (I Santana) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

GENERAL

PRE-RACE BLOOD TESTING & IMPOUND SAMPLES: FRIDAY

RACE 9 [TF676] : TAKESHI

115 coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

All samples were analysed and none failed except for Sample Coded No 113696 which revealed the presence of Omeprazole and Metabolite and which was reported to have been taken from the horse, TAKESHI, trained by Trainer D Koh, which was withdrawn from Race 9 after failing its Pre-Race Screening Test on the above date.

On Friday, 11 May 2012, Trainer Koh was advised of the Analyst’s Report and his attention was drawn to the contents of MRA Rule 137 (1) relating to the Referee Sample.

6 coded urine and 6 coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.
