Reports:

  1. Lynn, Mitch, Tom B, Lars, Kevin - Basins Progress to Date Gathering Input
  • Lynn – No input yet
  • Mitch – Limited input so far, has had some conversations.
  • Job Sheets, missing signature block.
  • O&Ms additional canned statements would be helpful.
  • Phone conversations have been most responsive.
  • Tom B – Sent out email questionnaire, 10 responses hopes for more.
  1. What sources do you use for technical information and what is most helpful

FOTG, Google

  1. Does Tech Guide have information you need and in a form that is useful, give examples?
  2. Should the Tech Guide eFOTG be the primary source of technical information for OR?
  3. List in priority order top 3 things the STGC needs to work on or improve to make the Tech Guide a useful and relevant source of technical information.

FOTG is not up to date particularly frustrating for TSPs

  • Lars – Talked to a few folks, things are outdated.
  • Would like a way to flag when national Standards are updated, example: 578 Stream Crossing Natl. 2011, OR 2003
  • CPA-52 not located on the eFOTG.
  • How is information added to the eFOTG, can multiple people add and in various formats, Word, Adobe, Excel?
  • What are the rules for adding information to the eFOTG?
  • Need a comment area if they notice something is outdated.
  • Expand section descriptions to clearly identify what is contained in a section.
  • Notification of updates is poor ie. fencing updates, find out at random.
  • Kevin – Talked to ½ Eng. staff including Travis. 4 more people to talk too.
  • Best response on the phone.
  • Has put together a list of Eng. standards. Comments from the engineers, is the same as other topics, outdated information.
  • Statement of work, OR adoptions have not been included.
  1. Tom, Denise - State Office Update on draft National Standards
  • Denise – WNTC recently sent notification of draft standards released for review.
  • This workload will be folded into the work plan.
  • When additional drafts come in they will be added to the list.
  • Define process for notification, review and public comment of national standards is part of the Federal Register process. The state has a different process. eFOTG process is independent of the national and state review process.
  • The national list is general, not discipline specific.
  • Greg and Denise will develop the list for what needs to be reviewed for EcoSci.
  1. Evelyn - FOTG Structure, Components, Posting Current Information, FO Notification of changes and Disability Requirements.
  • Evelyn – Researching other states eFOTG for logical organization, information, structure and technical edge.
  • Denise – Bob Gillaspy is the primary person entering and removing information from the eFOTG.
  • 508 Compliance – make information on the eFOTG accessible to people with disabilities. Explains document so that it is disability friendly. It is required.
  • Specialist puts updates in a folder to upload to the eFOTG . Conversion to 508 compliance takes time so a bottleneck developed with updated information sitting in the folder waiting on 508 compliant conversion.
  • Word documents are posted in advance to get the information posted and available for use prior to meeting 508 compliance requirements. Word is not 508 compliant. 508 takes 2-3 days to complete.
