Sterling Scholar Requirements

  • ACT composite score of 17 or higher
  • Register to take/re-take the ACT by September 22 for the October 28 test
  • Complete Application(2 pages)
  • A listing of your category petition(s), up to 4in order of desirability
  • Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenshipdescription sheet:
  • List 6activities, awards, honors in each area (20 words or fewer per description)
  • Essay: 200 to 250 words describing your academic achievements, your personal successes, your community involvement, your goals for the future/what you want to do or be when you grow up
  • Summary of Achievements (1-2 pages)
  • List every award, honor, medal, certificate, trophy, recognition, achievement, top grades, top scores, top classes, etc. you have received, gained, or takensince the beginning of your high school career.
  • Please list everythingyou can think of in each category.
  • Scholarship: grades, scores, honors / AP / college classes, etc.
  • Leadership: recognitions, positions held / elected to, honors, etc.
  • Citizenship: recognitions, service projects, activities, etc.
  • Extra-Curricular: participation in sports, music, drama, religious groups, etc.
