Meeting Minutes
Tuesday May 17, 2016 – 1835 Town Hall – meeting called to order at 7:31 pm
Present: Maureen Cathcart, Andy Parker, Bob Finizio, Bonnie Pulda, Mark Hryniewich & Kristen Dietel.
Review Minutes:
· Reviewed minutes from April 12 meeting- Andy made a motion to approve, Maureen 2nd, – all approved
Finance Report:
· Bonnie made a motion to approve, Andy 2nd – we discussed field funds – all approved
Long Jump:
· Bonnie contacted the DPW and asked them to improve/repair long jump at Griffin Road. They took care of it last week and long jump looks great!
Babe Ruth:
· Mark & Andy have done a lot of work to get field up and running. Mark & Mike DiVerdi fixed roof and rotted boards on dugout. Mark installed boards along the bottom of the backstop to keep kids from cutting their hands on fence. Will continue to work on backstop until we have the funds to replace it. Babe Ruth will use it more in the future. May allow AAU teams to use to ensure field stays in decent condition.
Lights at Griffin
· Field 1
o SGSA (Sterling Girls Softball Assoc) would like to begin prelim research into adding lighting to Field 1. We encouraged them to start with SMLD
o Concern over outfield pole addressed – not necessary
· Around Track
o Wachu LAX would like to improve lights around track. Working with SMLD to explore possibilities
Review Basketball Season:
· Started conversation about possibility of changing grade breakdown of program. Will continue next meeting and make final decisions on 2016-2017 season
Summer:
· Program planning going well. Summer Concerts start July!
Old Business:
· Boy Scouts
o Still working on finding company to make signs. Stone dust around posts.
· Send flowers to board member having surgery – Bonnie made motion, Andy 2nd – all approve. Rec Director will handle
