BackGround
Steffey Designs is pleased to submit this proposal for services to support Artistry Arcades in achieving its goals for improving customer satisfaction by providing a website designed around their artists. We have incorporated some of the latest in modern design to allow users the ability to browse and mingle with their favorite artists.
We designed this site for artists and purveyors of art alike. Our focus is two-fold, we hope to allow a large showcase for artists to display their creations and allow their fans to interact and understand what inspires them.
Site Requirements
Since Artistry Arcades has never had an online presence before we looked at the services, they provide in their retail location and sought to bring that same level of service to their online community.
- Need #1: Allow artists to have ownership of their online presence, to reflect their personalities
- Need #2: Allow consumers the ability to interact with their favorite artists and feel they are part of the community.
- Need #3: Give consumer the ability to purchase creations from their favorite artists
User Description
We recognized two main users who will make the most use of Artistry Arcades online site. Here we looked at those groups and their possible needs.
- Artists: Artists will love the ability to have their personas reflected in their portfolio sites while still maintaining consistency of the site.
- Art Lovers: Art lovers will love the ability to browse and communicate directly with their favorite artists. Our related projects recommendations allow art lovers to see similar artist who they may find interesting.
Information Architecture
Our site layout will consist of five main navigation pages with everything else found off these main pages. This will gear users toward the main content and events sponsored by Artistry Arcades.
- Home Page: Consists of a scrolling masthead creating a great focal point. A brief description of Artistry Arcades and the purpose for the site as well as links to some featured artists to entice visitors
- About Page: An overview of Artistry Arcades and their missions and an introduction to the team themselves.
- Contact Page: Shows the location of the studio and contact information as well as allowing user to create a message directly from the page.
- Artists Page: Showing artist and their creations allowing user to browse their collections and creations.
- Events Page: Highlighting the latest shows, galleries and trainings offered by Artistry Arcades.
Wire Frame and Layout
These are just a few of the rough frame works that we look at to decide where to locate information on the page.
Phase 2: during Phase 2 of the page design, we hope to be able to give over more control to the artists themselves. Allowing them to choose borders, colors and font for their page giving them freedom of expression while maintain continuity on the site.
