To summarize this, we always start off by proposing Microsoft Clustering + DKCE, unless:

  • Customer is running Standard Edition of windows
  • Customer runs SQL Server andrequires failover across subnets
  • Customer runs Windows 2003 and requires failover across subnets
  • Servers will not be part of an Active Directory domain
