What’s in a name? As a tributeto his deceasedbrother, Brent Vanneste – at age 13 – decidedto start his own band ‘Steak NumberEight’, referringto a songtitle of his brother’smetalbandVoidpoint.

Today, Steak NumberEight are a aboutto release theirthird album titled “KOSMOKOMA”. Thispostmetalpowerhouse has been inflictingtheirunique brand of sonicterrorismsincetheyreleasedtheirdebut EP “When The Candle Dies Out”, back in 2008.

In 2011 Steak NumberEightfollowedwiththeir proper debut album “All Is Chaos”, ensuring the postrock / sludge metal teenagers leftgiantfootprintsacrosstheir native lowlands, andbeyond. An album of suchtitanic magnitude itearnedthemcomparisonstosuch alumni as ISIS, Mastodon, Killing Joke, Neurosisand Tool.

Sophomore album “The Hutch” – released in 2013 –was the ultimate proofthat SteakNumberEightwereheretostay, convinceand blow people’sminds,Combiningdevastatingguitarsand a hopeful sense of melody, the band tookone step furthertowardscreatingtheirownuniquesonicuniverse.

Meanwhiletheirreputationfortheirearthshattering live shows drewcrowds in drovetowitness the spectacle. Performances at Graspop Metal Meeting (BE), Pukkelpop (BE), GhostFest (UK), Paaspop (NL), etc ... saw the youngstersevolveinto a well-oiled machine, capable of raisingvenuesand festivals to the groundwith the monolithic power of theirmusic. Steak NumberEightbroke free of the confines of theirhomelandand spread theirwingsfurtherafield, hypnotising fans as they went whilstsupporting the likes of Deftones, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Prong, Alice Cooper andMarmozets.

KOSMOKOMA, scheduledfor release in the fall of 2015, is aneleven song behemoththatclocks in at just over anhourandseven minutes.For the mix of the album the band found a kindred spirit in triple Grammy-winning producer / engineer David Bottrill, known best for his workwith Tool (AenimaLateralus), King Crimson (Thrak) andMuse (Origin of Symmetry).
