STatus of the Industry
The industry seems to be finally turning the corner toward sustained growth. Communities are adding new homes, we have developers considering new developments and the positive energy seems to be a bonus for Wisconsin retailers. HUD Code home shipments in Wisconsin are up more than 30% and modular home shipments are also up nearly 17%.
Status of Alliance Membership
In 2016, the Wisconsin Housing Alliance membership had a growth spurt in all categories. From all indications, that growth should continue in 2017.

2016 was a great year for legislative efforts for the industry. Some key legislation that was favorable to all segments of the industry include:
- Transport loads can now be heavier.
- Transporters now officially have the right of way in a roundabout.
- Evictions for criminal / drug activity and threats to safety can be processed with a 5 day no cure notice.
- Residency restrictions on sex offenders.
These are just a few of the examples of positive legislation WI Housing Alliance helped to enact.
Tomorrow’s Home Foundation
2016 was the year of giving for the Tomorrow’s Home Foundation. Staff was busy administering a State Grant from the Dept. of Safety and Professional Services for critical repairs and disposalsAND a water heater replacement grant from WHEDA. Below are the numbers of families helped by Tomorrow’s Home Foundation.

In addition to the funding provided by the grants, member donations matched those funds to help double their impact. Unfortunately, the Tomorrow’s Home Foundation is not able to apply for any additional grants until after July 2017. Therefore, 2017 will be a year of fundraising to be able to again match the grants when they are up for the application process. That effort will be kicked off with the raffle. In addition to raffle funding, member donations are the life-line for the Tomorrow’s Home Foundation funding.

financial Status
2016 finances for Wisconsin Housing Alliance will end with additions to our reserve fund for the first time in many years. This is due to additional staff during the transition in leadership. Reserve funds continue to sustain the organization at a level that maintains a high level of member services. For 2016, a balanced budget is expected, and the hope is to increase reserve funds.
Governance
The Wisconsin Housing Alliance is governed by an 18-person Board of Directors. If there are more nominations than there are seats on the Board, an election will be held. A nominating committee is used to determine eligibility to serve on the Board. All members that meet membership criteria are eligible to hold office.

Communities & Sales Centers
Wisconsin has 1,066 manufactured housing communities with 53,765 home sites.Alliance members own 39,808,which means the Alliance represents 74% of all sites...an all-time high! Alliance members sell nearly 100% percent of all manufactured homes sold in Wisconsin. The Alliancerepresents 67% of all factory-built home sales in the state. And 58% of modular homes are sold by Alliance members.
