Donald Fraser

University of Toronto

Our key note speaker, Dr. Donald Fraser obtained his Ph.D. from Princeton University. He is a Professor Emeritus at the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto; Canada. His primary research interests are in the likelihood asymptotics theory, large sample theory of statistics, foundations of statistics, Bayesian Analysis and Structural Inference. He is a prolific researcher, having published five books and more than 250 papers in well-regarded statistical journals. He has won numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious R.A Fisher Prize and the first gold medal of the Statistical Society of Canada. He is also an officer of the order of Canada since 2012, a major recognition! He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, of the Royal Statistical Society, and American Statistical Association and Honorary Member of the Statistical Society of Canada, among many others. He has presented a number of papers in many national and international conferences. Dr. Fraser has supervised over 50 Ph.D. students and is on the editorial board of several journals.
