Old Business

Credit Card POS – Terri reported that POS sales at the Alzheimer’s 10K went well; with five sales by credit cards.

Ultimate 10K/5K is scheduled for June 27, 2009; one sidewalk sign-up is scheduled as well as a blast email. MRTC will cone the Ultimate 5K and 10K courses.

Green / Recycling Committee – Recyclable bins should be in place by the start of the 2009 RRS races.

Women Run Program – begins in June – formal mandatory training scheduled for June 22 and June 29. Kick-off meeting scheduled for July 13. John Bookas will video tape one of the mandatory training meetings. Negotiations are under way with Shelby Farms for the use of the park for a single donation instead of $2.50 per person per use. It was suggested that MRTC assist with a fundraising effort for the Shelby Farms Conservancy. WRM 5K scheduled for September 19 at Overton Park.

New Business

2009 RRS – Dates are as follows:

5K – July 12 and Jul 26

5Miler – August 9 and August 23

10K – September 13 and September 27

10Miler – October 5 and October 18

Half Marathon – November 8 and November 22

Kroger has committed to providing food for the 2009 RRS races.

MRTC Quarterly Membership Meeting and No Time to Run scheduled for Sunday, June 28 at 2:00PM at Shelby Farms at Shelter #3.

Equipment – Rob reported that MRTC is looking into purchasing some electronic timing devices. Note of interest, BestTimes will probably buy new timing system for the St. Jude Marathon Weekend.

Health and Safety Update –

Roadrunner – An ad for Driven magazine is in the July-August issue of the Roadrunner. Brent will submit a copy for the reciprocal ad in Driven and after getting approval from the board, will have it designed by Latrescia Goss.

2.  St. Jude Half Marathon course has been measured and will go through the St. Jude campus.

1.  St. Jude Marathon registration opened 04/30, with a cap of 15,500 for all three races; Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 5K.

2.  Discussion about the St. Jude prize money is scheduled for the week of 06/15 – whether to reduce it, eliminate it, and increase it, the latter being the least likely.
