Letters to all states was sent on August 28, 2013 seeking “guidance on whether Midway University needs to obtain authorization to offer online academic programs to students residing in your state.”
Below is the status for each state. Documentation for each is on file in the Office of Academic Affairs.
ALABAMAApproved for existing online programs. Waiting for private school license to be issued by ADPE – DROPPED 6/18/2014 (LICENSE NOT ISSUED)
ALASKAApproved for everything. Must re-apply prior to October 26, 2017 (two year approval)
ARIZONAApproved for online and experiential
ARKANSASApproval is required for everything. Did not apply for authorization

KANSASDoes not need to apply for a Certificate of Approval; however, should the University significantly increase its Kansas enrollments, decide to direct market to Kansas residents (including email campaigns to Kansas teachers, radio, television, newspaper/magazine advertising, direct mail to potential students), or hire faculty that reside and teach within Kansas, Kansas request that the University contact their office to begin the process of applying for a Certificate of Approval. Note, Kansas statutes also require the institution be approved to operate should its programs require an externship, internship, mentorship or clinical be completed in the state of Kansas.
LOUISIANAOnline delivery does not trigger presence, but experientials do. $1,000 fee regardless. Did not apply for authorization.
