Start your own Curry Business today!

Why not become a reseller and distributor of our Curry Kits? It's fun, customers love them and they are so easy to cook and to get authentic Indian Restaurant results at home that your customers will keep coming back for more.

What does the business entail?

You will become a registered reseller of our white label curry kits which you can then sell on at a profit under your own brand. This means that you are investing in something which is entirely your own. It's not like reselling someone else's brand of products because you get to create and own your own brand name.

This means that nobody else can resell your brand of curry kit.

You can also get a complete eCommerce website branded with your own name. This means that your existing customers can place repeat orders in a way which is easy for them and almost as important is easy for you.

What is a curry kit?

The Kit itself is a specially formulated curry blend seasoning for cooking a specific curry. It comes in a gripseal bag with an A4 printed recipe folded up and then contained in a clear plastic sealed bag.

You get the Recipes in MS Word format and can edit the document to add your brand, contact details and web site. That way your customers always come back to you.

How are they so easy to cook?

We spent several months developing a method to achieve Indian restaurant style results using the simplest technique possible. Most of the kits are cooked in 20 minutes.

Why are they so authentic?

The authentic taste comes from the quality of spices we use to formulate the kits combined with the simple to follow recipe. Our blends are Restaurant grade curry spices and we prepare them to order. That is why your customers will not be able to recreate the same results without your spices! Your repeat sales are guaranteed!

How does the business work?

When you sell the kits to your customers you have two options when buying from us.

1. Buy ready made kits from us. These come bagged and sealed with the recipe printed and included. All you have to do is put a small sticker on the bag or a flyer with your contact details.

2. Buy the spices in bulk from us and the food grade grip seal bags and card bags and mix and fill the kits yourself. The upside is you make about £1 more profit per kit. The downside is the time it takes.

The choice is entirely yours and you can swap between one method and the other as your available time dictates.

Who owns the business?

This is your business and you own it. You are totally free to set prices as you wish. You can add products from other suppliers if you see an opportunity. All we do is supply you with the tools to build your business and the quality curry spices that will keep your customers coming back and the recipes which we developed that enable anyone to cook a great curry at home.

How does the website part work?

We will build you a website under a domain name of your own. For example

This will be linked up to a PayPal account which you own and all of the curry kits and products will be preloaded so you will be ready to take orders immediately. The website is a full eCommerce package with the ability to modify it and the products as you see fit.

Once you receive an order and the payment you simply post or deliver the goods to your customer.

We regularly develop and add new curry kits and recipes so you will have a good reason to communicate with your customers about new things.

How can I sell the Curry Kits?

There are many ways to sell and you are free to be creative and create your own new markets but the following are an example of tried and trusted ways to sell the kits:

Curry Party

Home parties are great fun and were popularised by Ann Summers and Tupperware. Start by asking people in your own family, friends and neighbours network if they would like to have a curry party. They then invite their friends, around 10 people is a good number. You go and demonstrate how easy the kits are to cook by making 2 or 3 dishes and letting people sample them for themselves. Then you can get people to have a go themselves and cook 1 or 2 more.

Take orders on the night. Most people will buy at least 1 to 4 kits so incentivise them to buy more perhaps with a special offer such as 3 for £10. Look at the table below to see what you could earn.

No people at the party / 10
3 for £10 offers taken / 7
Single kits sold at 3.99 / 2
Non buyers / 1
Total Sales / £77.98
Cost of Demos / £7.00
Cost of kits / £23.00
Total Costs / £30.00
Profit on the night / £47.98
New Customers Gained / 9

So for 1 party taking about 2 hours you have earned nearly £50 and sometimes will earn more but that is just the beginning. The last figure in the table is the Number of new customers which is 9. These customers are the basis for your ongoing repeat sales, the next time they buy will be on your website and you don't need to do make any effort for these sales, the hard work is done and has made you a profit already. Now take a look at the potential figures for earnings by the end of year 1 and year 2:

Parties per week / 2
Average Profit per party / £50.00
Average new customers per party / 8
New customers per year / 768
Repeat purchases per customer per year / 4
Average Repeat sale will be 3 for £10
Therefore by end of the first year:
Weekly Repeat sales orders / £590.77
Cost of those sales (inc. Kit cost & shipping etc.) / £265.85
Weekly repeat sales profits / £324.92
Party profits / £100.00
Weekly profits / £424.92
Therefore by end of the second year:
Weekly Repeat sales orders / £1,181.54
Cost of those sales (inc. Kit cost & shipping etc.) / £531.69
Weekly repeat sales profits / £649.85
Party profits / £100.00
Weekly profits / £749.85

These figures show you could be earning nearly £40,000 a year at the end of year 2 all with just a few hours a week marketing by parties and a couple of hours a day fulfilling orders. It takes a while to get there but it is a steady growth. The good thing is that you can start this business part time alongside a regular job or if you are unemployed you can start earning extra money from day one.

We have tried to err on the conservative side with these figures by only having 2 parties a week. More are possible if you advertise the parties well enough. There are also other ways of selling the curry kits apart from party plan and they can be run side by side such as a local food or farmers market (see below).

Some things you must try to do at each party:

Get contact details from everyone even if they don't buy. Email addresses are free for advertising and are not spam as long as you provide people with a mechanism to opt out. Emailing a special offer or new product to your contact database will result in an average sale of around 5% so that is 50 sales for 1000 emails. You will gather at least that many contacts in 1 year.

Try and arrange 1 or 2 new party bookings with the attendant guests, give them an incentive such as some free kits. Always concentrate on the people you do not know at the early parties as these are the people who will introduce you to new networks.

Have fun, be creative play some curry related games or make up a Curry Quiz with prizes and the like. Make up some fun activities which appeal to your audience. All male, All female and mixed groups all behave and enjoy themselves differently. A Poker game for the guys and perhaps Curry Bingo for the girls with the chance to win Poppadoms or similar (Don’t give kits as prizes, these are your crown jewels and somebody who wins poppadoms is likely to buy a kit or 2 to go with them!)

Food and Farmers Markets

Take a stall at a local market. If it is a food market half the selling is done for you as you know everyone is interested in food and cooking. Even non food markets work well as we tested the concept at Blackbush market for 6 months in 2006, this is a general market in berkshire our average profit each Sunday was £210 not including the repeat sales on the website.

If possible have a small camping burner to make up a batch of curry sauce and let people try with a bit of poppadom. Best to not make too hot a sauce nor a too mild or creamy sauce. A plain curry or rogan josh usually goes down well with most people. If you can't have a camping burner due to conditions of the local market make some up before you go in a big flask.

Again have an incentive deal such as 3 for £10 which will trigger most people to go from buying 1 kit to buying the deal.

Direct Mail Marketing

Direct Mail Marketing can be a cheap and cost effective way of promoting your curry kit business. Getting flyers printed and delivered is a very low cost way of getting your products and web site known in the local area. As the customers will be local you can deliver the kits by hand saving yourself the usual postage and packing costs and thereby increasing your profits.

As with any marketing you must create a visually appealing advert with a call to action and a sense of immediacy with a compelling offer and ensuring the reader is aware that you are a local business which he or she can trust.

Web Marketing

As you will have your own branded website to take repeat orders you can also take advantage of the internet to promote your business. The following lists of options are outside the scope of this document to explain but are pointers in the right direction:

  • Search engine optimisation - get your site up the search engines
  • Pay per click advertising on major search engines
  • Blogs and forums postings - put your message on facebook, bebo, myspace and more
  • Email marketing - gently remind your customers with a special offer or deal
  • Viral marketing

These are just some of the ways to get your business started without expensive advertising costs and keeping your outlay low. There are many others from shops, to dropping leaflets at business premises and offices as well as engaging other people to sell on your behalf.

How much does this opportunity cost?

To get started costs you nothing, no registration or sign up fees. You only pay for the kits you plan to resell. Just go to and place your orders as you need. No minimums apply.

If you would like an eCommerce website to ensure you pick up the repeat sales which are the key to long term success and higher earnings, then this costs £9.99+VAT per month for the hosting service. The cost of a UK .co.uk domain name is included free of charge. If your circumstances change and you need to cancel the web hosting you can do so and no notice period is required. There is no minimum period sign up period either so you will be taking very little risk by including the website and only 2 orders per month will cover your costs and put you in profit.

The website is a fantastic way to deal with repeat customers. Instead of taking phone orders or dealing with mail order forms you will get orders placed direct and payment made instantly cleared into your PayPal account. No waiting for cheques to clear, no need for a manual PDQ machine (which in itself usually costs £20+ per month).
