INFORMATION:

START: Big Peaks Car Park – off A38T near Ashburton.. GR:SX766707
Start from 9.30am, we intend to start most between 9.30 and 10.00, in groups. Try to avoid riding in huge groups as you will be on a fairly narrow cycle lane adjacent to the A38 for the first couple of miles. There will be toilet facilities at BigPeaks.

ROUTE: The distance is 55Km. The route follows the A38 and A383 via cycletrack, until you pass under the road and enter Goodstone Woods, the start of the off-road.
The rout continues through Islington to Bovey Tracey and then climbs through Stonelands, descending back over the A382 to Wreylands, climbing again through Lustleigh, and into Houndtor Woods, up to Water and to the refreshment stop at Manaton. There are then a couple of loops arund Greater Houndtor and Black Hill, before descending to Ullacombe, and then dropping into Haytor Vale, Ilsington and retracing steps back to Ashburton.
The route is being run in an anti-clockwise direction as we thing there is more downhill off-road doing it this way!

TIME: There is no set time limit but we estimate that this ride will take between 4 and 7 hours, we’ll be there at the finish until 1800 – please telephone and tell us if you pack. Please note that the event is NOT a race – the idea is to complete the ride safely.
Please consider horses and walkers that you will meet on route. On the Moors the event may be monitored so let’s set a good example.
