StarQuest (Space Crusades) Unit Stats Template
If you like this template, here it is. Of note, Microsoft Word defaults printing of images to 96 PPI, which creates a significant amount of pixilation for images. This is particularly noticeable for smaller images.
To maximize image quality, you should change your Settings on Word to allow for maximum resolution (220 PPI) and disable automatic image compression. When importing images, you can also link to the images to allow you to keep your image resolution and change your images around easier.
You may also be able to “trick” Word by transforming your images with a Shape image. To do this, create a simple Shape image made with our Shapes Tool. Then cut and paste your picture into this Shape image. It may or may not transform the image. Colored images seem to work better than white and transparent images.
Sometimes changing a Shape’s position from floating to “In Line with Text” so that it falls in line with your images will transform it. You will be able to tell if this worked by clicking on your image and paying close attention to what it looks like when you select it.

If you can copy and paste an images so that the new images appears “transformed” when selected, you’ve won. This image will print out much clearer than an image which hasn’t been “transformed”.
You may also get a similar effect when Word autosizes an image when you hit enter after an image and undo this action. This type of “transformation” will create a crisper image to print, but cannot be copied and pasted without losing this effect.
Note: Watch out for “transformed” transparent images on colored backgrounds. These may look great in your .docx file, but the transparency will print out white.
