Graffiti Color Wheel
Standard/Learning Targets:
VAHSVAPR.3 Understands and applies media, techniques, and processes in color / painting.
a. Applies color theory (hue, value, intensity) and color schemes (monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split-complementary, and triadic) to express emotion and create unity.
b. Reviews primary, secondary, and tertiary hues.
c. Uses color relationships such as monochromatic, warm/cool, complementary, analogous, and spilt-complementary to achieve visual unity and/or intent of work.
Procedures:
1. Go to graffiticreator.net and choose a font.
2. Click load on the font you like. It will open a new window.
3. Type your name and move the letters around to make a balanced composition.
4. Right click on the letters and select print from the menu.
5. Draw the letters big on your poster board so that they take up the majority of the space.
6. Divide the poster into 12 sections using the color wheel as a guide. Draw the lines through the letters.
7. Paint the background according to the color wheel.
8. Paint the letters in each section the complimentary color
of the background.
