Schneider Electric ION Enterprise 6.0 SP1 + Win7 32bit + SQL 2008 R2 Standard 32bit

Standalone ION Enterprise 6 Installation -

Windows 732bit / SQL2008 R2Standard 32bit

Introduction

This document describes the installation procedure of a new ION Enterprise 6 SP1 system with the following parameters:

  • Server topology - Standalone system with one server housing the ION database, application, and web services.
  • Operation System - Windows 7 32bit (assumed already installed)
  • SQL Server Version - SQL 2008R2 Standard 32bit

Before you start

  • Have ION Enterprise 6.0.1 CD (build 1300 has Service Pack 1 included)
  • Have SQL 2008 Server R2 Standard 32bit CD
  • Have a copy of the RS2008WRConfigurationWizard (RESL203767)
  • Download the following32 bit Feature Packs for SQL Server 2005 from Microsoft

-SQLServer2005_BC

-sqlncli

-SQLServer2005_XMO

1.Install Internet Information Services (IIS)

-Open the Control Panel > Click on Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on and off. -Check “Internet Information Services”.

-Expand each sub-folder and ensure the following IIS options are checked:

Click OK to install…

2.Register ASP.Net32bit

Ensure you are logged in as THE administrator and not just a user with administrator privileges! Alternatively you can run an elevated command prompt. But either way you will need the administrator password. To run an elevated command prompt, right click a command prompt shortcutand Run As Administrator.Run the following command:

3.Edit Handler Mappings

-Open IIS Manager (Run->INETMGR)

-In the left pane, select Default Web Site

-In the middle pane, double click Handler Mapping

-In the right pane, click Edit Feature permissions…

In Internet Explorer type: . Ensure IIS is working.

If IIS did not install successfully and you do not see this screen, then stop and resolve before continuing with the install!

4.Install SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard

Insert the SQL Server 2008 R2 CD…

Product Key: enter product key > Next

License Terms: Accept the license terms > Next

Setup Support Files: Install

Setup Role: SQL Server Feature Installation > Next

Feature Selection: Install the following features…

-Database Engine services

-Reporting Services

-Management Tools - Complete

Click Next…

Instance Configuration: Name the instance “ION” > Next

Disk Space Requirements: Next

Server Configuration: Set all services to ‘Startup Type’ = Automatic

Click ‘Use the same account for all SQL Server services’ and browse for the SYSTEM account (may be listed as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM). It is not necessary to specify a password.

OK > Next

Database Engine Configuration:

i)Choose Mixed-Mode authentication.

ii)For a dedicated instance for ION Enterprise, we recommend using the default password “ION!Everywhere” for the system administrator (sa) account.

iii)Specify SQL Server administrators. Add Current User, i.e. the user that will be going on to install ION-E as well. Add any other users as desired.

Reporting Services Configuration: Install the native mode default configuration >Next

5.Run SQL Server 2005 Feature Packages

Install in order:

  1. SQLServer2005_BC
  2. sqlncli
  3. SQLServer2005_XMO

6.Validate access to Report Manager

In Internet Explorer, browse to the Report Serverweb page i.e.“_ION” (note the underscore separator) for a local instance named ION. Provide Administrator login credentials if prompted.

Browse to the Report Manager web page i.e.“_ION” (again note the underscore separator). Provide Administrator login credentials if prompted.

Verify there are no errors accessing either page.

**If there are any errors, stop immediately to troubleshoot & rectify the problem before proceeding.

7.Enable xp cmd_shell

-Open SQL Server Management Studio. Connect to the SQL Server 2008 instance just installed.

-In the Object Explorer window, right-click on the server. In the pop-up menu, click Facets.

-In the Facets dialog box, in the “Facet:” drop-down list, choose Surface Area Configuration.

-The last item in the list in XPCommandShellEnabled. Change it to True and click OK.

8.Install ION Enterprise

Insert the ION Enterprise CD…

Click Install Server > Primary Server > SQL Instance

click Install

Next…

Accept the licensing terms > Next

Enter Customer Info and Product Key > Next

SQL Server Instance: Select the local ION instance > Next

Select ‘Yes’ to continue anyway…

Select File Destinations: Next

ION Web Configuration: use default settings > Next

Install

Finish

9.Install ION Enterprise Service Pack 1

Run ION Enterprise 6 Service Pack 1(ServicePack1.exe)…

Next > Finish…

Click This program installed correctly

10.Run the RS2008WRConfigurationWizard

Copy the RS2008WRConfigurationWizard.exe into the ION Enterprise\system\bin folder.

Double-click on it to run. “Force” configuration when prompted…

click Force

Reporting Services Deployment: select “Reporting Services is installed on the same machine as the database engine”.

Database Server Information: ensure SQL Server Database Instance is set to the local instance of ION

Authentication: username=sa, pw=ION!Everywhere > Test > Success > OK > Next > Next

click Yes

click Yes

Next > Next > Finish
