Sponsored Walk - Rob White, a parishioner at St. Peter’s and a volunteer reader at school is celebrating his 70th Birthday in January by doing a sponsored walk for Mary’s Meals. Rob is walking on the 26th Jan from St. Peter’s Primary, Stalybridge to St. Peter’s Primary, Hazel Grove. If you would like to sponsor Rob sponsor forms are available in church or you can donate online at As it cost only £13.90 to feed a child for a full year every donation greatly appreciated.

RCIA - this series is mainly for those looking to become Roman Catholics or perhaps re-joining full communion, who are looking to explore the Catholic Faith and the teachings of the Catholic Church .and will meet once a week. UCM - The next meeting of the UCM is on Wednesday 14th Feb. As this is Ash Wednesday there will be no Mass at 1pm but there will be prayers in the Parish Hall at 1pm followed by the meeting. The speaker is Honor Murray. Ladies, please note that the Diocesan subscription is now due and must be paid by 31st Jan. St. Peter’s Cubs - are holding a Race Night, in the Parish Hall on Saturday 17th March at 7.30pm, Tickets cost £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children or a family ticket costs £10 (2 adults & up to 3 children), supper included. Please bring your own drinks. The proceeds will go towards helping two of our own scouts Charlie McCallum and Thomas Worrall, who have been selected to represent Tame Valley Scouts at the next World Scout Jamboree in North America in 2019. Dates for your Diary - a number of parishioners have asked about some of the special events that will be taking place in the early summer. Antony Zidan’s ordination to the Diaconate and Fr. Philip’s 25th Anniversary as a priest. Father’s Silver Jubilee Mass will be on the evening of Tuesday 26th June and Antony’s Diaconate Mass will be at Shrewsbury Cathedral on Saturday 7th July at around Midday. We will give further details in the weeks ahead.

Retired Priests Collection - thank you to those who have given to the Retired Priests collection, envelopes can still be returned over the next few weeks.
