IC PARISH COUNCIL will have their meeting Monday, March 12th at 7 PM in Marian Hall.
SJ & IC: After all weekend masses, March 17-18, 2018, Roni Salsa and another associate from Bethlehem Christian Families, will be present at both parishes to sell unblessed olive wood religious articles. These beautiful handcrafted items make wonderful gifts for weddings, anniversaries, Confirmation and First Holy Communion, house warmings, etc. All profits from the sale is used to build a Charitable Hospital in Bethlehem and Jerusalem to help the poor and needy families receive better health care and medical needs. Come, browse, and purchase as needed.
SJ & IC: Please read the attached letter from the Most Reverend Mark Bartchak, Bishop of the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese, concerning the 2018 Catholic Ministries Drive. The goal for Saint John Church, Summerhill, is $12,124.00, and the goal for Immaculate Conception Church, New Germany, is $15,524.00. Since both parishes have met their goals and received rebates in past years, I’m asking and encouraging all registered parishioners to be generous and help us meet our goals this year also. May our good and gracious and generous God bless you for your generosity. Please return your pledge envelope to the rectory, not to the diocese.
SJ: Since attendance at and volunteers needed for our annual Father’s Day Breakfast and Mother’s Day Breakfast have declined, during the past few years, neither breakfasts will be available this year. Many thanks to all who attended and brought guests and to all who volunteered to cook, to serve, and to clean up afterwards. May all families enjoy a gracious Father’s Day and a glorious Mother’s Day at home or at a local restaurant.
SJ & IC: As we continue to develop our Interparish Arise Together in Christ Team, we will be calling upon parishioners in both parishes to assist as team leaders and/or participants. Pray now to be prepared to join us on this spiritual journey.
SJ &IC: A reminder: our Interparish Loan Library is located in the Pie Room of Sant John Church’s social hall. All are encouraged to browse and borrow these religious books and CDs for your spiritual growth.
IC/SJ YOUTH GROUP is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24th at noon at the Grove Hall. Please register your children on the sign-up form in the gathering space of either Church or call/text Rhonda Smith at 254-9939.
SJ ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY meeting will be on Tuesday, March 13th at 6:30 PM beginning with Rosary.
IC ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY will have a White Elephant Auction on Monday, March 19th after their meeting to benefit Birthright. All members are asked to bring a couple of new or gently used items to be auctioned off. All are welcome to attend the auction, not just members.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE is Tuesday, March 13th at New Germany Grove Hall from 1:30 to 6 PM. Both donors and volunteers are needed. Please call Twila 495-5247 if you can volunteer your time to help.
CHRISM MASS is celebrated on Monday of Holy Week, March 26 at 11 AM at the Altoona Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Each parish will need two (2) representatives to receive the Holy Oils. If anyone is interested call Pam.
FOREST HILL MINISTERIUMSunday Lenten Services. All services start at 7 PM with refreshments served after the service. The following is the schedule: Today,March 11th - at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill, with Fr. Donald Duzsa as the guest speaker; March 18 at Bethel-Salix UMC; March 25 at Elton UMC.
SQUARE DANCE will be held at New Germany Grove Hall on Saturday, March 17 from 7 to 10 PM. An $8 admission will cover dancing and refreshments. Music by Klassic Kountry. All are welcome!

SJ & IC 11th GRADE CONFIRMATION CLASS - St. John's & IC's service project for 11th graders is to clean their churches. It will be for Immaculate Conception and St. John’s on Saturday, March 17that 9 AM. Please be on time & bring a bucket/scrub rags. Rite of Sending for IC & SJ will be on Sunday, March 18th. IC Candidates & Sponsors will meet in Marian hall at 8:45 AM and attend the 9 AM Mass. SJ Candidates & Sponsors will meet in the church social hall at 9:45 AM and attend the 10 AM Mass. Please dress appropriately, your group photo will be taken after Mass.

FISH DINNER: The IC Rosary Altar Soc. will sponsor their Lenten Fish Fry Buffet every Friday during Lent at the Grove Hall from 4 to 7 PM. Cost of the Dinner: $10 Adults; $5 children; 3 years old & under no charge. Take outs are available until 6 PM; please call 495-4298. Help is most definitely needed to make this event a success.
