The mission of St James Catholic School is to provide a well-rounded education in a cooperative effort to prepare students for life-long learning of their Christian faith.

I.  Call to Order by A. Goebel; K. Mitchell absent.

II.  Opening Prayer by A. Goebel.

III.  Acceptance of Agenda: Motion by J. Nichols; Second by A. Greiner. Passed and approved

IV.  Welcome Visitors: M. Peterson present.

V.  AEA Guests speak about FAST

VI.  Approval of previous minutes: Motion by Father, Second by J. Nichols. Passed and approved.

VII.  Finance Update provided by M. S. Marek for May 2017; no concerns related to budget for previous month. Success Maker: Call placed to Jim Logan with the Washington County Riverboat Foundation (WCRF) in regards to grant received in 2015 for program; message left by M.S. Marek; awaiting return response at this time due to Mr. Logan being on vacation.

VIII.  Principal McBride Report: B. McBride present and reviewed the following:

IX.  Enrollment Update for 2017-2018 School Year:

X.  3 year old preschool: 13; 4 year old preschool: 20; Kindergarten: 14 (2 new students); 1st grade: 16; 2nd grade 13; 3rd grade: 15 (1 new student); 4th grade: 6; 5th grade: 13 = total enrollment: 110 students.

XI.  Back to School Advertisements.

XII.  Back to school night: August 21, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

XIII.  Letter’s Training: 4 from St. James (including Mrs. McBride) are attending.

XIV.  End of year reports.

XV.  WCRF agreement (reviewed by M.S. Marek and B. McBride).

XVI.  Band lessons: Mr. McBride to volunteer for 2017-2018 school year.

XVII.  New Contract for Mrs. L. Sheetz; 3rd grade teach; coming in at a Step 6.

XVIII.  Contract for Mrs. Sheetz: Motion by J. Nichols; Second by B. Lasek. Passed and approved.

XIX.  Summer Planning Report:

XX.  Electrical; A/C to be completed by target date of: July 30, 2017.

XXI.  Entryway floor mats: Pricing needed.

XXII.  Jacob to assist with some classroom uplifts; Jacob will be helping Vicki in the kitchen.

XXIII.  John to clean the carpets; somebody needed to wax floors.

XXIV.  Pastor Report

XXV.  Summer Planning Reports discussed previously.

XXVI.  Parish- - Financial savings program needed; hopeful in the amount of $6,000.00 this year if started in July 2017; no mutual agreement in relation to the financial savings program at this time.

Old Business

·  Pre-registration enrollment: Discussed in principal report by B. McBride.

·  Elections: Over 300 ballots received for this election; B. Lasek and M. Fluharty welcomed.

·  Summer school repair projects: Bathroom painting; Windows: some screens in need of repair; Volunteers to be obtained for additional summer school repair projects.

·  Diocesan annual funding seminar June 13or 14th: Email sent by A. Goebel to Lee; no response received.
