St. Isidore Parish Consultation – outline

This outline follows the suggested format for the parish meetings posted on the planning2012 site:

http://www.planning2012.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Open_Meeting_Ideas.pdf

Date: April 25, 2012
Time: 7:00 PM
Place: Church Hall

As suggested we would set up the round tables with 10 chairs at each. Provide coffee, hot water and some cold drinks, and cookies and fruit.

We would use the hanging screen and projector.

Handout would be the one page summary, with the opening prayer on the reverse side:

Opening prayer and introduction as in the suggested format

Presentation One – the pastoral plan – use the supplied powerpoint presentation:http://www.stisidorestow.org/Resources/PastoralPlanning/Parish-Meeting.pptx

Polling Feedback One – use the supplied power point: http://www.stisidorestow.org/Resources/PastoralPlanning/POLLING_for_PARISHES.pptx

and have printed polling forms people fill out.

Oral feedback on the plan (not the groupings). Follow guidelines.

Break – 15 minutes

Presentation (announcement really) of the Groupings. - we probably should include the groupings proposed for Hudson/Marlboro and Maynard-Sudbury. Have complete list available on computer in case someone has a question that needs that info.

Oral feedback on the grouping of St. Isidore and St. Elizabeth of Hungary.

Unless someone suggests a different grouping and there seems to be some support for it, I recommend not polling on this. Instead, rely on the Written Feedback to gather sentiment or questions not voiced in the Oral feedback section.

Next steps as in the guidelines with added invitation for people to email any questions/comments or to ask staff or council members. We would announce when we expected the polling data to be available for viewing.

Closing prayer.

I suggest that there is great value in having PPC and PFC present as aligned with the parishioners as opposed to having them appear as aligned with the staff, with staff and council presenting a “done deal”. So I would suggest that the meeting be run by staff members but to encourage PPC and PFC members to weigh in during the oral feedback sections, or to respond to any questions directed to them by other parishioners.

I suggest that Bob Brady run the presentation as moderator. Perhaps Fr. Mike could make a short statement at the beginning, and then respond to any questions or comments that seem better answered by a priest. I would run the A/V and any technical aspects of the presentation and polling. I will take a shot at transcribing the oral feedback stuff but not on screen.
