Mrs. Janet Evans, High Sherif of Clwyd is hosting a Garden Party at her home in Cae'r Berllan, Llanrwst on Saturday 4 July, 2 - 4.30 p.m. Proceeds to the Dance Champions of the World Award at Llangollen International Eisteddfod - Sponsored by Soroptimists International of Cheshire, North Wales and Wirral. There will be a delicious tea, strawberries and cream, various stalls, raffle and a treasure hunt around the garden. - tickets are £12 and available from Joan on 01745 582869.

Drum Circle – Saturday 4 July, 2 – 3 p.m., Parish Rooms, St Peter’s on the Square, Ruthin. A drum circle is where a group of people are facilitated to make some noise with drums and learn a bit about rhythm without realising that they are learning. This drum circle is offered to young people aged 11 – 16 and there is no need to have any drumming experience. If you know a young person who might enjoy this activity, please let them know. Drums will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so if they wish to book a drum please email . There’ll be a cold drink and cookies when we finish.

St. Mary's church, Treuddyn are holding their annual Summer Fete on 4 July at Hafan Deg centre, Treuddyn. Many stalls, refreshments, afternoon tea, raffles etc. To be opened by Rev'd Carole Poolman at 2.30 p.m.

Revd Ian Day - 40th Anniversary of Ordination. On Sunday 5 July this 40th Anniversary will be marked with a Benefice Eucharist in St. Margaret’s Church, Bodelwyddan at 11 a.m. and the preacher will be the Venerable John Lomas, Archdeacon of St. Asaph. Exploring Faith - Would you like to undertake a course of deeper study in theology, the bible, liturgy and mission? Are you exploring God's calling in your life or seeking to train for a ministry? If you or your parish, mission area or Deanery would be interested in finding out more about the Exploring Faith Course, either the informal foundation year or the more formal university accredited programme, Rev Dr Richard Hainsworth would love to hear from you. Exploring Faith is also part of the process of training for Reader and Ordained ministries and many students find that beginning the course helps them in confirming their vocation and making a start on training before going through discernment/selection.

Training Together “So… you’re the PCC Secretary” – This session (which is open to all but especially useful for PCC Secretaries and Clergy) will give guidance on the role and duties of the PCC Secretary in relation to the Annual Vestry Meeting (AVM) and PCC meetings, also as parish record keeper and communication conduit. 7 July, 7-9 p.m. in the Diocesan Office, St Asaph. Keeping People Safe – Health & Safety Training.The Church in Wales and Ecclesiastical Insurance are running a series of practical workshops for those with a responsibility for ensuring that health and safety procedures are in place in their Church. The sessions will address the practical issues of ‘What do I need to do?’ and ‘How do I do it?’ rather than focusing on the legislation. Sea Sunday 12 July - Please see the attached letter from Revd Nicholas Jones (Chaplain to the South Wales Ports and Secretary to the Wales provincial Council for Mission to Seafarers)with information about the needs of Seafarers and details of how to access the recourses available for Sea Sunday.

“From Conflict to Hope” - This July marks twenty years since the Srebrenica genocide during the Bosnian War. There will be a special service of words and music in Meifod Church at 11 a.m. on Sunday 12 July to mark the anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. The service will give an opportunity to reflect on the evils of racial and religious hatred, and to look forward in hope to a tolerant future. It will end with a simple shared communion.

The speaker will be Mark Michaels, from the South Shropshire Interfaith Forum, who has recently come back from a visit to Srebrenica, and the service will be led by the Rev Jane James, vicar of Meifod. The service will be followed by an informal bread and cheese lunch.

People of all faiths – or none – and from all churches and chapels are invited to come. To help with catering, please phone 01938 500107 if you plan to stay for lunch.

St Grwst’s Church, Llanrwst will be hosting an “Open House Event” on Tuesday 21July from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity to learn more about this wonderful grade 1 listed building. Volunteers will welcome all visitors and there will be guided tours between 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. There will be an organ recital by Bryn Heyward between 12 – 1 p.m. Refreshments available at the Alms Houses, Church Street, Llanrwst throughout the day. Volunteer opportunities for 2015 summer holidays - Feeding the children in the school holidays project.One in eight pupils is not getting enough to eat in the school holidays. This is according to teachers who are worried by changes in pupils, such as weight loss, when they return to school in the new term.

Wrexham Mission Area will be making packed lunches for as many children as they can over the school summer holidays. If you would to come and help to make the packed lunches we will be at St Mark’s Church in Caia Park.

The project will run from Monday 20 July to Friday 28 August. We need volunteers to help to run this project for the 6 week period. We will be making packed lunches for the children who attend Gwenfro Valley Play scheme (Caia Park), The Venture Play scheme (Caia Park) and The Land Play scheme (Plas Madoc). We will be making approx. 150 packed lunches per session and the session will take about 2hrs (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.).

  • Stillness and prayer - 6 - 6.30 p.m. every Tuesday. At the end of a busy day, a peaceful time to be still with quiet music, a bible reading and prayer, to ponder in silence.
  • Sung Compline - 9 - 9.20 p.m. every second Wednesday in the month.Hear the men of the parish singing this ancient service of Compline at the end the day. All are welcome to come and listen to this quiet and moving service.
  • A Sacred Space - 4.15 – 5 p.m. every third Sunday in the North Chapel, following evening prayer. Please come and join in this quiet, informal service of sacred songs, prayers, Bible readings and reflections. All are welcome to take part or simply listen.

BBC Harvest Songs of Praise - It’s that time of year when the BBC get in touch for their Harvest Songs of Praise. They are looking as always for inspirational stories and are keen to see how farmers celebrate harvest. Ideally they would like to film in September. St. Michael's church Nannerch is staginga Flower Festival the theme of which is "Village and Country Life". There is no entry charge to the festival (but donations welcome!) which will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on 11 and 12 July. On the Saturday from 2-4 p.m., afternoon tea will be available in the village hall at a cost of £5 per head for adults and £3 per head for children.
