SRI SAI RAM

Saipadananda Radhakrishna Swamiji

HIS HOLINESS Sri Saipadananda Radhakrishna Swamiji was sent by his Master H. H. Narasimhaswamiji in 1952 to Bangalore to spread the fragrance of Sri Sal Bhakthi. Accordingly Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji went to Bangalore and settled himself in a small room (upstairs) in N. R. Colony, Bangalore. He began to contact numerous devotees and sowed] the seeds of Sri Sai Spiritual Centre. By his untiring and dedicated work, Sri Sai Spiritual Centre at Thyagaraja Nagar, Basavangudi, had grown into a big Banyan tree. The Mandir reverberates with Vishnu Sahasranama, and Swamiji radiated supreme peace and inspired thousands of devotees to spiritual heights by his personal care and intense love.

Sri Swamiji was born on 15th April 1902 in Poyyamozhi, Tiruhi District, and his parents were Smt. Lakshmi Ammal and Sri Venkatarama lyer. He was from young age an introvert. He was named 'Radhakrishna' as he was born after his mother took prasad at a Radhakalyana function. He met our Gurudev H. H. Narasimha Swamiji at Fernhill, Ootacamund, and becama his devoted disciple. He used to accompany Swamiji in all his tours and was the AISS representative at Shirdi Sansthan.

The 'Sai Sudha' started by Narasimha Swamiji in 1940 was personally nurtured by him tili 1956, until his nirvana. From that time (19-10-56) Radhakrishna Swamiji became the Editor and he carried on the mantle till his nirvana in 1980. When we celebrate the Golden Jubilee issue of our 'Sai Sudha', we wish to express our deep sense of gratitude to the editorials written by our revered Sri Saipadananda Radhakrishna Swamiji, which were simple and elevated all readers into the Sai Bliss easily.

Sri Radhakrishnaswamiji accompanied Sri Narasimhaswamiji in his North India tours and after Swamij's nirvana, he continued the great work started and patronised and conducted various Conventions at different parts of the country from the Coimbatore Convention in 1963 to Nagpur Convention, to which, he sent his Persona/ Message. '

The essence of Sri Swamiji's teachings may be summarised as under.

" The key note of Baba's blessings to his disciples was\lovef immeasurable love. He showers his love equally on all, on the learned and ignorant, on saints and sinners and evinces earnest and unceasing solicitude for the relief of their misery and for the attainment of infinite peace by realising the Almighty."

Swamiji insisted on the Vishnu Sahasanama Parayana as the panacea for cure of all ills besetting the suffering humanity. Swamiji always remembered his Revered Sac/guru Sri Narasimhaswami/i who has planted the torch of love in the name of 'Sri Sai" in our hearts.
