Squirt A District 16 TournamentParticipants

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Red Lake Falls and the Cardin-Hunt Arena forthe 2017 Squirt A DistrictPlayoffs, scheduled for March 4-5.

Locker Room assignments for each game will be posted on the white board outside the locker rooms. A separate locker room will be available for female players if needed. Keys will be at the concession stand or given to you before each game. Cell phones, IPods and/or any other video recording equipment are prohibited in the locker rooms.

HOME TEAMS will wear light colored jerseys. The Home Team will be top team on the bracket and will be using locker rooms C or D. Away teams will be the bottom team on the bracket and will be using locker room A or B.

There will be a hockey shooting/warm up room available for players to use throughout the weekend for pre-game warm ups or to practice.

All games will consist of three, fifteen minute, stop time periods. If a tie occurs at the end of regulation time, the teams shall not change goals, and after a two (2) minute rest, sudden victory overtime play shall ensue for a ten (10) minute period. If neither team has scored during the ten minute period, another two (2) minute rest, then a second sudden victory overtime period. If still no winner the ice shall be resurfaced and another ten minute sudden death period shall follow. This plan of play shall continue until one team scores. If after three ten-minute periods of sudden death overtime play, the teams remain tied, the tournament director (in the best interest of the tournament) has the option of call the game and playing it off at a later time.

Ice resurfacing shall be done after every two periods. If the game goes into overtime, resurfacing shall occur at the end of the first overtime period and at the end of every three overtime periods thereafter.

All players will be announced on the first day of the tournament and the national anthem will be played at the start of each day.

Trophies and Medals will be awarded to the District Champion, Runner-Up, and 3rd Place Teams.

EMT’s will be on hand to provide medical assistance for illness or injuries that may occur. Please remind all of your coaches that it is the responsibility of the Referee to call the medical personnel onto the ice to provide medical attention. Coaches should remain in the team box unless directed by the medical attendant or referee to do differently.

This is a “NO PROTEST” tournament. REFEREES will have the final say on all calls. USA HOCKEY registered referees shall officiate all games.

Tournament admission is set by District 16 Hockey and is as follows: Weekend Pass-$15.00, Daily Pass-$8.00, Senior and Student weekend $8.00, Senior and Student daily-$5.00. Kids 10 and under are Free.

Concessions will be available at the arena. Some local restaurants that offer a full menu of sit down dining are TNJ’s Bar and Grill, Joe DiMaggio’s Sports Cafe and Memories Cafe. Eagle Square and Cenex South convenience gas stations also offer limited food choices.

Free Wi-Fi (provided by Garden Valley Telephone Co.) will be available throughout the whole arena all weekend.The Network to connect to is GVTC Public Wi-Fi. On the log on screen press I Agree and Accept and you will be connected.

The Red Lake Falls Blue Line Club, and the City of Red Lake Falls, will not be responsible for injuries or accidents.
