repeat or redeem.

RACE INSTRUCTIONS

Committee Boat:PORTAGEBAY, the club's 39' Universal Trawler.

VHF Channel:Channel 72

Race Administrators:Denny Johnson, Lance Downing

Time Limit:1630 hours Saturday (fire up the iron wind and come to dinner!).

1630 hours Sunday. (CallPORTAGEBAY on VHF 72 or Cell – 206-948-7529 to report WITHDRAWS)

Race Course:A chart is attached with short, medium, and long courses. Check with Committee Boat prior to race. They will display a S, M, L flag for short, medium or long course.

Special Rules:This is a fun race, flying sails and spinnakers must be kept stowed!

Safety Equipment:PIYA category III required.

Race Start:Reverse start using modified PHRF/Open Class handicaps. Starting times will be assigned so that the higher handicapped boats start earlier than the faster boats with the goal being each class finishes at about the same time. This way everybody gets a chance to eat the hors d'oeuvres. All boat entries check with Denny Johnson on the PORTAGEBAY to receive start times and instructions prior to 10:30 a.m.

Long Course (10.6 Miles):

Committee Boat Displays “L”

  • Start off South Shilshole mooring buoy temporary buoy (L)
  • Round Skiff Point temporary buoy (H) to starboard
  • Thence to temporary mark (O) .75 miles off Meadow Point (M) buoy
  • Thence to Point Monroe temporary buoy (P) to Port for finish

Medium Course (7.6 Miles):

Committee Boat Displays an “M”

  • Start off South Shilshole mooring buoy temporary buoy (L)
  • Round West Point (W) buoy to Starboard
  • Thence to temporary mark (O) .75 miles off Meadow Point (M) buoy leaving to Port
  • Thence to Point Monroe temporary buoy (P) to Port for finish

Short Course (5.2 Miles):

Committee Boat Displays an “S”

  • Start off South Shilshole mooring buoy temporary buoy (L)
  • Round Skiff Point temporary buoy (H) to Starboard
  • Thence to Point Monroe temporary buoy (P) to Port for finish
