Meeting called to order at 6:35pm

Principal’s Report - Mrs. Carlson

●Spring conferences turnout larger than fall conferences.

●Awards for: Teacher of the Year - Ms. Hannigan / Para of the Year - Heather Furlenzo / Parents of the Year

●Spring Fling dance was a success

●Academic Awards on Apr 4th during school hrs.

●Book fair this week

●Career Day scheduled for May 18th (12:30-2:30) expecting 35 presenters

○request for refreshment donations from PTA

●NWEA & SBA testing begins this month

President’s Report - Diane Dumais

●Smooth Jazz looking for raffle basket donations

●Dr. Feser meeting talked about how BOE added $360k to budget which got rejected by BOF. Public hearing meeting BOA on Apr. 4th / Vaping issue in schools as resulted in Law closing some of it’s restrooms.

Vice President's Report - Lucila Massey

●Reviewed teacher raffles and made $66 this round - winners were drawn during PTA meeting and will be posted on Facebook

●Student/Teacher basketball game this Friday @ 7pm - still looking for donations of water and snacks / t-shirts were distributed / there will be some t-shirts for sale the night of the game / admission $2 at the door / so far collected $450.

Treasurer’s Report – Becky Speringo

●$21,780 balance

●$1444 deposited / $280 paid out

●$1392 raised for 8th grade dinner dance

Recording Secretary – Shelby Keller

●Meeting minutes from Mar. 6th meeting reviewed and approved by Diane Dumais and Kim Hoydilla.

Corresponding Secretary - Lori Ann Seluga

●Nothing to report.

PTA Council Reps – Jen Marchesseault (on behalf of Kim Hoydilla)

●Superintendent search in progress with hopes to hire someone by the 1st day of school.

●Lifetime achievement Award will be presented on May 17th - in honor of Mike Nelson

●Smooth Jazz event looking for raffles basket donations

●Nominating committee for PTA Council looking for candidates

●Guidebook for communication booklet being established to help PTA’s name events

●Orange Ave had a pizza taste test fundraiser which raised $500

Committee Reports

●8th grade dinner dance - DJ and invitations have been taken care of.

●Book fair (Krista Heard) - gave $235 to the library / $150 to social worker / books given to teachers for classrooms

●End of Year Picnic - (Kim Hoydilla & Tracie Griffin) consider using DJ from 8th grade dinner dance / est. food for 500 / held last day of school

●Teacher Appreciation week - 1st week in May; Mon.- Breakfast / Wed - Lunch / Fri.- Desserts; there will also be raffle baskets for teachers

Teachers Report

●Successful 7th grade trip to Chelsea Piers

●Fundraiser opportunity - escape room at Mall - PTA could get $5 per person.

●Three staff members (social workers / spec. ed) establishing a Parent University for next year. Looking to bridge the gap between schools and parents. Looking for suggestions for topics to cover.
