Sports MarketingTeam Relations–Project 3

Each team member will be responsible to plan items essential for building relationships with fans and sponsors for their FootballTeam. The following are the guidelines for the project – designed to apply the sports marketing concepts learned in class. A hint: have fun with the projects, involve everyone in the group and think outside the box. Sometimes the best and most fun ideas are the ones that you don’t expect to work.

Stage Five:In-Game Sponsorships & Events

Develop one (1) in-game sponsorship promotion to take place during half-time, time-out, or pre-game breaks.

Identify what local or national sponsor for your team would be involved. Identify the activities of the event and the scope and sequence of the activity. How will it be played? Won? What is there to win? What is the cost to the team? Sponsor?

DETAIL is very important in the planning of a sponsorship activity and Return (or the Post-Activity Payoff for the sponsor) is the deciding factor in a successful and/or repeat sponsorship. Will the activity generate sales for the sponsor? How?

I have included a Sponsorship Proposal on the front counter to identify some of the important components and outline what is needed to get a sponsorship activity completed.

Stage Six:Fanatics Poster

FANatics POSTER

  • Teams will create a 24” x 24” poster to present their team fan attractions to the class.
  • Use computer generated lettering, graphics, and printouts in your designs & poster
  • Posters should include color and may include hand-drawn illustrations & designs.
  • Posters will include team sponsor logos from either the internet or products purchased.

Organization:

½ dedicated to the roster and players on the team

½ identifying the components planned in stages 2-3-4-5.

This should include either a write-up/essay or diagram of the promotions, events, and sponsorships.
