Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme (HTAS)
This document gives an overview of the HTAS structure. Each sport will vary according to performance pathways.
If you are aged 11 or over and: / You may be eligible to receive / Application form to complete- A top 5 ranked national performer or a member of a national team
- Receiving over £7500 from your NGB or through the World Class Programme.
- Free access to leisure centres
- Free sport science workshops
- Fast track physiotherapy
- Presentation and public speaking training
- Non-grant application form available on Sport Hampshire& IOW website.
- A top 5 ranked national performer or a member of a national team
- Competing internationally.
- Placed top 5 at a national championship.
- Grant of up to £600 plus further opportunities to receive more funding through community appearances
- Free access to leisure centres
- Free bus travel card (limited number)
- Free sport science workshops
- Fast-track physiotherapy
- Presentation and public speaking training
- For a grant and all services, complete the Grant Application Form between 2 September and 11 October 2013 or
- Complete a non-grant application form at any point in the year for free access to leisure centres and physiotherapy care.
- A top 10 ranked national performer or member of a national team
- Placed top 10 at a national championship.
- Grant of up to £300 plus further opportunities to receive more funding through community appearances
- Free access to leisure centres
- Free bus travel card (limited number)
- Free sport science workshops
- Fast-track physiotherapy
- Presentation and public speaking training
- A top 15 ranked national performer or member of a national squad
- Placed 15 at a national championship.
- Free access to leisure centres
- Free bus travel card (limited number)
- Free sport science workshops
- Fast-track physiotherapy (costs £60 per year)
- A member of a regional or county team.
- Fast-track physiotherapy (costs £60 per year)
- Non-grant application form available on Sport Hampshire & IOW website.
- The number and frequency of performances (especially international performances) will be taken into consideration when deciding award levels. Where a national championship exists, results and rankings may be required from this competition e.g. swimming/ athletics/ diving/ sailing.
- Age group rankings will only be accepted to Under 20s level. After this, rankings must be from open senior competition.
- Please note, access to gyms/ fitness suites for under 16s is at the discretion of the leisure centres.
Examples of performance level for sports
Below are some examples of the levels of performance required to receive support services.Funding will be granted to those athletes competing at the highest levels in their sport but who do not receive more than £7500 in funding from their NGB or through the World Class Programme.
Athletics
A top 15 ranking from the Power of Ten AND a top 15 result from a national or international championship such as: the English Schools Championships, England Athletics Championships, World U20 Championships, World Youth Olympic Games, European Junior Championships, Commonwealth Games, Olympic/ Paralympic Games.
Boccia
A top 15 result from national and international championships such as: the Boccia National Championships, GB Boccia Championships, Cheshire Building Society International Boccia Championships, European Championships, and Paralympics. Member of the England and/or GB squad.
Hockey
Played in the Futures Cup U16 / U18 or selected for High Performance Centre U15 / U17, selected for the England training squads U16 / U18, selected for the England U21, senior England team or Team GB.
Netball
Member of a National Talent League team (Team South), British Colleges squad member, in the National Excel Programme, member of the England senior, U17, U19 team.
Sailing
British Sailing Team Olympic or Paralympic Programme Podium Potential Athlete (UK Sport Levels D and E).
British Sailing Team Olympic or Paralympic Programme Podium Potential Athlete (UK Sport Levels F and G) or member of the RYA Tailored Support (TS) Group at time of selection in an RYA Youth class.
Member of 2013-14 RYA UK Youth Squad or;
athletes selected from the primary indicator results/ ranking for the 2013-14 RYA Transition Training or UK Junior Squads as follows:
•Laser Radial (Transition Training) – Top 5 boys and top 5 girls
•RS:X (Transition Training) – Top 3 boys and top 3 girls
•420 (Transition Training) – Top 5 boys and top 5 girls
•29er (Transition Training) – Top 10 teams
•Optimist – Top 10 boys and top 10 girls
•Topper – Top 10 boys and top 10 girls
•Laser 4.7 – Top 5 boys and top 5 girls
•BIC Techno (windsurfing) – Top 2 7.8 boys, top 2 7.8 girls, top 2 6.8 boys and top 2 6.8 girls.
•RS Feva XL – Top 5 teams
•Mirror – Top 2 teams
•Cadet – Top 2 teams
Member of 2013-14 RYA Transition Training or UK Junior Squad.
