Sports and health

On the whole going in for sport is very healthy. The aclive relaxation, which the sport offers to people, is useful for psychical and mental health. In the old Rome the ruler gave the bread and games to people to keep them obedient. It’s the proof that it is very pleasant to go in for sport or game. The man after sport is very nicely tired, has better mood and his agresivity is subdued. The fatigue is soon replaced by energy and the man is feeling well.

The second advantage of sport is connecting people. The football matches can be the theme of conversation nearly in each country. Milions of people like to attend matches, watch them on TV or listen to them on the radio and cross their fingers for their favourite team. Very favourite sport is tenis. Many people watch the Wimbledon – the Grand Slam Tennis Tournament. The most famous sport event is the Olympics. The Olympic games held every four years, they have their summer and winter parts which change once every two years.

Some other important sports events are the World and European Championchips and Cups in various sports. There také place various kinds of sport and to this action come sportsmen from the whole world. People on each continent watch the Olympic games on TV. When this event is present the wars are stopped and the whole world is very happy. Each state in the world would like to organize these games. I think that these games have very important role.

Sport is very healthy for human body too, but the man has to be very careful and clever not to hurt himself. During the sport the air enters the airways and the blood is more oxygenated. It is very good especially for brain and the other organs in the body.

Sportsman could do the good stretching before doing their sport to prevent defects of their muscles and joints. There are some psychical sports too for people, who can`t move well or are more lazy. To this group belong table games for example chess. There exist sports for people who are handicaped. They have their own Olympic games called Paralympics.

Sport belongs to civilization and learns people to keep together, cooperate and fair play.

SPORTS

Sports are one of the most popular leisure time activities. They help to keep fit both physically and mentally. Sport can be used as a form of relaxation but it can also help take off some weight. During sport events one can meet a lot of new people and see how it feels to be winner or loser. Besides taking an active part in sport it is also possible to watch sports events or bet money on certain sports results (play the pools).

Usually all sports and games are diferentiated into two groups according to where they can be practised: indoor and outdoor. Indoor sports include for example gymnastics, table tennis, boxing, wrestling,....

On the other hand Outdoor sports include for example skiing (down-hill, cross-country, slalom, ski jump), hiking, rock climbing, horse riding,...

But most sports and almost all games can be done both indoors and outdoors.

Sports can be differentiated according to when they can be practised. Winter sports can be done only on ice or snow (skating, skiing, snowboarding,...). The others are called summer sports and all-season sports.

The most numerous group of games are the ball games, for example baseball, basketball, football, golf, hockey, rugby, softball, table tennis, tennis, volleyball,...

When we want to do some sport we hane to wear special sports wear such as T-shirts, shorts, swimming dress,...First when we start practise we must always do a little warm-up. It is neccesary because there is a danger of injury.
