The Australasian Newborn Hearing Screening Committee (a sub-committee of Deafness Forum of Australia) aims to foster the establishment, maintenance and evaluation of

  • high quality screening programs for the early detection of permanent childhood hearing impairment throughout Australiaand New Zealand;
  • accessible and appropriate assessment and intervention for children identified with such hearing losses;
  • accessibility to information and support for parents and of children identified with permanent childhood hearing loss; and
  • a national database of newborn hearing screening.

The Committee also aims to facilitate discussion and sharing of experience among professionals and parents involved inprograms aimed at the early diagnosis of permanent childhood hearing loss in Australia, as well as promoting research intothe delivery of and outcomes from these programs. This Conference is a key activity undertaken by the Committee toachieve these aims.

The Committee advocates at both National and State levels for progress and innovation in policy and resourcing for the areaof early detection and intervention for children with a hearing loss.

The Committee consists of members from every state and territory in Australia, as well as representatives from NewZealand. Committee members cover a number of elements of early detection process including program administration andmanagement, parents, audiology, paediatrics, otorhinolaryngology, habilitation, and early intervention/education.

About the conference

The 8th Australasian Newborn Hearing Screening Conference (ANHSC 2015)presents Australasia’s best opportunity to discuss trends in the newborn hearing screening sector, hear about national and international initiatives, and participate in thought-provoking workshops showcasing the innovative ways screening professionals respond to the challenges they face in delivering the newborn hearing screening programme.

The delegates attending the conference will be those who work throughout Australasia in the newborn hearing screening sector.

Attendance at our conferences has been steady over the years, with around 250 delegates expected to attend in 2015.

Keynote Speaker Sponsorship – investment $10,000

(maximum of two opportunities)

As a keynote sponsor you will receive:
